1. As an outstanding journalist and founder of the Vietnamese revolutionary press, President Ho Chi Minh always paid deep attention to promoting the great and sharp power of the press, building and training a team of journalists to effectively contribute to the revolutionary cause of the Party. Under his direction, the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was established on April 4, 1949 in the Viet Bac resistance base, a special milestone in the history of our country's revolutionary press.

On August 9, 2024, the Vietnam Journalists Association coordinated with Thai Nguyen province to organize the inauguration ceremony of the National Monument of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School. Present at the ceremony very early, Mr. Nguyen Hong Vinh - former Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, former President of the Vietnam Journalists Association was extremely moved when meeting Mr. Tu Linh and his son Tu Luong, relatives of Professor, Doctor, Journalist Tu Giay - one of the first teachers of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School.

Mr. Tu Linh has been Editor-in-Chief of Military Science Magazine for 9 years. Journalist Tu Luong, grandson of Mr. Tu Giay, is currently Director of Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City. “In a traditional exhibition room of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School, there are 3 journalists in one family. “The previous generation, the next generation/have become comrades in the same march” (To Huu’s poem) – 3 generations of revolutionary journalists and side by side with the country and the people”, Mr. Hong Vinh recalled.

Another meeting that left a deep impression on Mr. Hong Vinh at this school was meeting journalist Tran Kien's wife again. She was also a student at Huynh Thuc Khang School, now 95 years old, despite the long distance, to attend the inauguration ceremony. Mr. Hong Vinh shared that journalist Tran Kien's birth name in the journalism class was Pham Van Thai. At the end of the class, he was honored as an outstanding student.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Vinh shared that the location of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was also the evacuation site of Hanoi University during the years of fighting against America to save the country.

Later, comrade Tran Kien was elected to hold the position of Party Secretary, Permanent Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper - the largest political newspaper in our country. When he became a resident reporter of Nhan Dan Newspaper in the Soviet Union, every time he visited the Soviet Union and socialist countries, Uncle Ho invited him to go along to both exchange professional information and direct opinions and articles on the growth and development of socialist countries, as well as the relationship between Vietnam and fraternal countries. In addition to comrade Tran Kien, there was also Ms. Ly Thi Trung, who later became the Editor-in-Chief of Phu Nu Newspaper for many years, Mr. Mai Thanh Hai, Editorial Secretary of Nhan Dan Newspaper...

"It can be said that they are the "red seeds" of revolutionary journalism, a shining example of the spirit of dedication, not afraid of difficulties and hardships for the press, especially today's young generation, to learn from and follow," said Mr. Hong Vinh.

A noteworthy piece of information shared by Mr. Nguyen Hong Vinh is that the location of the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was also the evacuation site of Hanoi University during the years of fighting against the US to save the country. “The late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong grew up and was admitted to the Party during his university years in this Dai Tu land. And our press community has the right to be proud of a journalist Nguyen Phu Trong who has successfully succeeded the soldiers who were trained at the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School,” journalist Hong Vinh expressed.

2. The Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School is like a professional flame, spreading from the Viet Bac resistance base, illuminating the Vietnamese revolutionary journalism scene.”

Mr. Ho Quang Loi: Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School is like a professional flame, spreading from the Viet Bac resistance base, illuminating the Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.

National Monument Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School is a typical example of serious teaching and learning despite the extremely difficult resistance war situation. 42 students and 29 lecturers are truly the core of revolutionary journalism; contributing greatly to the glorious history of the country's journalism over the past 75 years.

The first generation trained after 3 months at the School spread out to the fronts to become shock troops on the cultural and ideological front of the Party, contributing to the great victory of the Vietnamese people. Many journalistic works were truly "revolutionary proclamations", "calls to the country" urging the people of the whole country to unite, rise up to eliminate the chains of slavery, fight for power and contribute to making resounding victories. From the blood and fire of war, generations of journalists volunteered to go to battle, the pens of revolutionary journalists contributed greatly to nurturing and fostering patriotism and national pride. And inevitably, the war took the lives of hundreds of brave journalists, their noble sacrifices added more color to the glorious history of revolutionary journalism and of the nation.

Honored and proud to work at the People's Army Newspaper - one of the revolutionary newspapers with a glorious history, Mr. Ho Quang Loi said that in the historic Dien Bien Phu campaign - for the first time in Vietnam and perhaps also the first time in the world, an editorial office was organized right at the front, the People's Army Newspaper. "At the Dien Bien Phu battlefield, the newspaper published 33 printed issues and brought them into the trenches for the soldiers to read. Those were historic issues in a historic campaign - famous in five continents and shaking the world. The press made very positive and effective contributions to the overall victory of the Fatherland", Mr. Ho Quang Loi said.

3. I felt honored, proud and moved when I visited and worked at the National Monument of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School. Looking at the bas-relief with portraits of 48 members of the Board of Directors, lecturers and students of the School, it was like carving into the era an immortal image of a heroic and glorious generation of journalists.

The walls with the determined call to arms, along with the images of historical newspaper pages with the smiles of the soldiers holding pens who devoted themselves to the resistance war and national construction, left me and those present at the inauguration ceremony with a very deep impression. They - the young journalists at that time overcame all difficulties and challenges to become one of the main forces, directly contributing to the glorious revolutionary struggle of the nation and the golden history of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.

Today's generation of journalists always remembers the merits of their predecessors, continuing to be the main force leading the way in orienting public opinion. Many journalists with their sharp talent, keen vision, dedication, practical experience, and sensitivity to current events have produced many works that are "pioneering and pioneering", strongly fighting against stagnation and conservatism; protecting and promoting good practices, creative models, and breakthroughs in thinking. Facing the period of technological revolution, journalism is witnessing great changes, today's team of journalists is always conscious of learning and improving to maintain the "fire of the profession".

The enthusiasm, courage and dedication of the first journalism class at the simple Huynh Thuc Khang school continues to be the guiding light, helping the team of young journalists firmly believe in the path they have chosen and contribute to continuing to write the glorious history of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.
