In any grassroots trade union organization, the Union President always plays a key role as a bridge between workers and business leaders, representing the voice, rights and expectations of union members.

That is Mr. Nguyen Cong Luong, Deputy Director and Chairman of the Trade Union of Quang Ninh Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company (Hong Gai ward).

With more than 10 years of working in the trade union, 3 years as Chairman of the Company's Trade Union, Mr. Nguyen Cong Luong always puts workers at the center of all activities. As a frozen seafood export production unit with 90% female workers, the Company's Trade Union has 250 members, operating in 3 departmental trade unions and 6 trade union groups. Mr. Nguyen Cong Luong flexibly implements care activities suitable to the characteristics of the labor force and corporate culture.

On occasions such as March 8, October 20 or the founding day of the Vietnam Trade Union on July 28, the Company's Trade Union organizes to honor female workers, give gifts to support those in difficult circumstances, and organize "union meals" to create a cohesive and warm atmosphere. At the beginning of the year, spring trips and group tours are organized as a form of "recharging" for union members after a year of hard work, part of the cost is also mobilized by him from departments to contribute together.

As Deputy Director, Mr. Nguyen Cong Luong understands even more clearly the importance of balancing the union movement and production and business activities. He directly directs the departmental unions to coordinate their expertise in launching production competitions. In 2023-2024, two union members had technical innovation initiatives to help save costs and reduce norms, and were commended by the higher-level union. The company also strictly maintains occupational safety and health work, continuously achieving high results in annual competitions for excellent safety and health workers.

Not only did he initiate the movement, Union Chairman Nguyen Cong Luong was also a pioneer in caring work. When storm No. 3 ( Yagi ) hit Quang Ninh in September 2024, causing nearly 10 billion VND in damage to the company and putting 20 workers in difficult circumstances due to collapsed houses and blown-off roofs, he took the initiative to discuss with the company's leaders and promptly provided more than 200 million VND in support to help families stabilize their lives soon.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly, a worker at the Processing Workshop, is one of 20 workers of the Company affected by Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi). She said: My family's roof was severely damaged, but fortunately, the Union supported timely repairs. We are truly touched by the concern from the Company's leaders and Union.

Every year, Mr. Nguyen Cong Luong also directs the commendation and reward of excellent students' children, supports union members in difficulty, and contributes to building a humane, responsible, and united corporate culture.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Luong regularly advises and proposes to the Company's Board of Directors to implement solutions in production to improve product quality; promote competition in production labor to maintain product quality and productivity; maintain export markets to ensure jobs and income for workers with an average of 10-12 million VND/person/month. With dynamism, dedication and responsibility, Mr. Nguyen Cong Luong is not only the "leader" of the trade union organization, but also a companion, protector and guide for workers to accompany the development of the enterprise.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Luong shared: To do well in the role of Union Chairman, first of all, we must put ourselves in the position of the workers to listen and understand. Not only taking care of their material life, but also paying attention to their spiritual life, creating a united and positive working environment. The union needs to accompany the profession, not stand aside. When production is stable, workers have jobs and income, that is also the success of the union organization.
