Ba Tri's son before the G hour of the grand parade celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South

BDK.VN - In the bustling atmosphere of the whole country heading towards the parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, Dong Khoi Newspaper reporter had an online conversation with Dang Huynh Xuan Yen - one of two Ben Tre children honored to be in the parade formation of the Female Special Forces.

“I am a daughter of Ba Tri, Ben Tre”, Yen introduced herself with a proud voice. Currently a third-year student at the People’s Security University, Xuan Yen is one of the outstanding representatives in the female soldiers’ parade this morning in Ho Chi Minh City.

When asked about her feelings before the sacred moment, the young girl could not hide her emotions: “As a security student participating in the parade, I feel extremely honored and proud. In the moment when the footsteps echoed in unison, I clearly felt the heroic breath of history, as if I was reliving the resilient years of the nation.”

To be present at the moment when millions of Vietnamese hearts are turning to her, Yen and her teammates have undergone more than 4 months of rigorous training at the Training, Professional Development and VocationalEducation Center No. 2 since mid-December 2024.

Every day is a challenge for the little girl, with steady, serious, and decisive steps under the scorching sun, and hours-long practice sessions that leave her feet blistered. However, Yen has never once allowed herself to give up. Xuan Yen shared: “Behind that fatigue is a sacred honor. I am representing thousands of officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security, contributing to a historic moment for the nation.”

Sharing the difficulties during her training period, Yen confided: “The most difficult thing for me is not the weather or the intensity of the training, but missing home, missing my parents, missing my grandfather. This is the first time I have been away from my family for such a long time. But that has also forged my courage, helping me to mature in an environment of iron discipline."

Through the exchange, a fire was quietly lit in the little girl’s heart from the story of her grandfather, a soldier of Uncle Ho’s army. “Since I was little, my grandfather told me about the years of marching, the heroic battles, the times of crossing mountains and forests to protect the country. From those stories, I cherished the dream of becoming a police officer to continue the family’s patriotic tradition,” Yen said.

Xuan Yen also did not forget to mention the silent but persistent companionship of her parents - one is a civil servant, the other is a teacher, who has always been a spiritual support for her on the journey of training and growing up.

For Yen, each step carries a lot of meaning: “I want to send into each step of the parade the pride of my homeland Dong Khoi, the land that once lit the fire of indomitable struggle. That is also my way of affirming that today's young generation is always ready to follow in the footsteps of their fathers and brothers, continuing to write the glorious history of the nation.”

Right after the ceremony, Yen will return to the lecture hall to continue studying and training. At the same time, she and her teammates are expected to continue to participate in the selection for the upcoming parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2, 2025.

At the end of the conversation, the young student's face not only showed the joy of a soldier performing an important, meaningful and sacred mission, but also the flame of faith, responsibility and aspiration to serve the Fatherland.

Yen said: “After more than 4 months of training, I have a better understanding of the value of peace and independence. I believe that although there are many challenges ahead, with my courage and passionate heart, I will make constant efforts to become a police officer worthy of the trust of the Party, State and People.”
