From March 12, 2024 to April 23, 2024, Hanoi Eye Hospital 2 has launched a program to examine and provide free glaucoma consultation for people across the country. The program is in response to World Glaucoma Week with the message "Awareness is also treatment", a campaign to increase public awareness of glaucoma - the silent thief of vision.

Subjects registered for Glaucoma examination include: Patients previously diagnosed with Glaucoma, people over 35 years old with suspected signs of Glaucoma, people with relatives with Glaucoma...
In addition, Hanoi Eye Hospital 2 also cooperated with Hanoi Glaucoma Club to organize the "Light up Glaucoma Awareness" run to raise funds for "Bright Eyes" from March 20 to April 29, 2024 for all runners nationwide. For each kilometer the runner achieves, Hanoi Eye Hospital 2 will donate 1,000 VND to the "Bright Eyes" fund. This is a charity fund established by Hanoi Eye Hospital 2 in 2022 with funding mainly drawn from the hospital's budget and contributions from staff, partners, and other benefactors.
In addition to activities in Hanoi, on March 21, Hanoi Eye Hospital 2 will organize a free examination and consultation program for more than 200 Khmer ethnic people in An Giang.
During the visits, the doctor checks refraction, measures intraocular pressure, performs fundus examinations, and performs other screening tests. Based on the results, the doctor assesses the disease progression, advises on appropriate treatment regimens, and prescribes appropriate medications. In addition, the doctor explains the disease to the patient and encourages them to persevere with treatment and attend check-ups on time to best control the disease.
In Hai Phong, from March 19 to 20, 2024, Hai Phong Eye Hospital will cooperate with the Asian Blindness Prevention Organization (APBA) to provide free examination and surgery for patients with vitreous-retinal diseases.

The program is an opportunity for people in difficult circumstances who need vitreoretinal intervention to receive treatment to regain sight, improve vision, and enhance their quality of life.
Participating in the program was Professor and Doctor Hattori Tadashi (Japanese). He is one of the best in the world in using endoscopes in amputation surgery. He has traveled far and wide to remote areas, overcoming difficult terrain to provide free eye treatment to more than 15,000 poor patients in Vietnam.
