In an elegant white dress, Cardoso quietly walked around Anfield. In front of her were thousands of bouquets of flowers, tens of thousands of souvenirs, the feelings that Liverpool fans, as well as the football community, had for Jota - her late husband.
For over a week, football fans from all over England have come to Anfield to pay their respects to Diogo Jota - who unfortunately died with his brother in a car accident on July 3.
On July 11, the entire Liverpool team gathered together. Salah decided to cut short his unfinished summer vacation, Luis Diaz also stopped partying. Nunez and Elliott also temporarily put aside their future transfer plans to gather together at Anfield.

Alisson was the first Liverpool player to recognise Cardoso - in a fan-recorded clip. The Brazilian goalkeeper and his wife immediately went to give her a hug.
Just over half a month ago, they were still sending congratulations on a hundred years of happiness to Cardoso - who became a widow just 10 days after wearing a wedding dress.
"At this moment, my thoughts and feelings are with your wife and children, with Rute and the children," Alisson sent an extremely emotional message after hearing Jota's sad news. At that time, he was still in Brazil, and could not return in time to attend the funeral of his close teammate.
And Liverpool captain Van Dijk said: "We will always be there for you and the kids, anytime." Together, they sent Cardoso a hug as they all gathered at Anfield.

Following the funeral on 5 July, and a mass at Gondomar on 10 July, Liverpool held a silent memorial on 11 July.
No announcement was made, only Liverpool players knew about the plans for July 11. But when they turned up to lay wreaths, a large crowd of fans were there.
Why? Because for the past week, there have been hundreds, thousands of people from the English port city coming there.
Before Alisson, a family recognised Cardoso, in her elegant white dress, arriving at Anfield. Two children came to hug her, a genuine and poignant moment.
Many people mistook that moment, captioning it on social media as "Jota's wife and children". But in fact, Jota's eldest son was only 4 years old. Because he was too young, Cardoso did not bring his children.

"My heart breaks all over again when I see Cardoso here," one female fan wrote on social media. Another said: "Anfield has always been welcoming to Jota's wife and children. I hope his sons follow in their father's footsteps and the Liverpool Academy is the place to welcome them."
British media reported that Liverpool will pay Jota's full salary of $20 million for the remaining two years of his contract. Rute Cardoso and his three children certainly do not lack material things.
But more importantly, the warmth that Liverpool people have for Jota's family. Cardoso may choose to return to his hometown of Gondomar (Porto, Portugal) but at Anfield, the chant "You'll Never Walk Alone" will always echo.
The English port city football team, the only team in history to have experienced two stadium disasters (Heysel 1985 and Hillsborough 1989), is always ready to protect the players' wives and children and never stops loving them.
