On August 6, a working group led by the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City surveyed a number of establishments producing and trading in Responsible Green Tick products (Responsible Green Tick is the abbreviation of the Product Quality Control Program in Ho Chi Minh City).

Green Tick shelves are eye-catching, increasing purchasing power

For the distribution system, the delegation surveyed at Co.opmart Thang Loi, MM Mega Market Hiep Phu and Bach Hoa Xanh store in Thoi An ward.

According to records, at these business locations, the area displaying responsible Blue Tick products is decorated eye-catchingly, helping consumers easily recognize and shop.

Accordingly, products with the Green Tick are mainly essential items such as vegetables, eggs, even meat, fish...

Working with the survey team, representatives of the distribution systems said that consumers are increasingly interested in Tick Xanh products, so purchasing power has increased.

Specifically, at the Co.opmart and Co.opXtra systems, the purchasing power of products with the Green Tick in July 2025 increased by 40% compared to the same period in 2024; while at the MM Mega Market system, it increased by 20-30%.

While choosing to buy vegetables at MM Mega Market Hiep Phu, Ms. Tran Bich Hien (An Phu Dong ward) said she had heard a lot about the Green Tick and realized that the program helps increase product quality control, so for many months she has prioritized buying vegetables... with the Green Tick.

"Food safety is always a hot issue, normally even products in supermarkets cannot be completely assured. Therefore, having additional control solutions is necessary," Ms. Hien assessed.

Joining Blue Tick will be an advantage

According to Mr. Dinh Quang Khoi, marketing director of MM Mega Market Vietnam, the Green Tick of Responsibility is a commitment from the management agency to the distributor. The program prioritizes monitoring activities, sampling, information disclosure, suppliers are periodically and suddenly inspected, and violations will be revoked.

Meanwhile, Ms. Vo Thi Bich Thuy, deputy director of the Saigon Co.op business department, commented that Green Tick is and will be a competitive advantage for suppliers and retail systems because consumers have begun to pay attention to products with well-controlled quality and origin...

In addition to vegetables and fruits which are the main products, the Green Tick program will be expanded to apply to many other fresh and packaged food products.

From the perspective of the implementing unit under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, affirmed that the program is not mandatory but creates a positive effect, increases market confidence, and helps consumers have more choices in shopping.

"We will honor units that do well, and at the same time inspect and eliminate violators to build a transparent and responsible market," Mr. Phuong affirmed.

As a companion unit supporting application management, Mr. Dao Ha Trung, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City High Technology Association, said that today's consumers not only buy safety but also buy quality and responsibility. The Blue Tick system supports strict quality control and transparency throughout the supply chain.

Will be expanding soon

Launched in March 2024 with only 6 participating distribution systems, the Responsible Green Tick program now has 12 distribution systems, more than 330 suppliers and more than 3,000 products participating in the Responsible Green Tick.

The program's operations are based primarily on the principles of voluntariness, self-commitment and self-monitoring of participating entities. Participating products will be sampled for testing and publicly disclosed.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, with many support solutions proposed by the participating parties, the upcoming program will be spread even more strongly. Products participating in Tick Xanh are not limited to fresh products but have been, are and will be expanded to include processed and packaged products...
