“My homestay is inspired by Indian-style bungalows. After nearly 5 years in the tourism business, I have invested more than 2 billion VND to make the homestay better serve tourists’ accommodation needs. As young people, we want to contribute to the development of Ly Son tourism, becoming a national tourist area in the future,” Sam confided.
Studying tourism business administration at Duy Tan University, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung (38 years old), in My Lai village, Tinh Khe commune (Quang Ngai city), has used the knowledge he learned to develop local tourism. As the Director of My Khe Agricultural and Community Tourism Cooperative, Mr. Dung and a number of young people in the locality have developed a community tourism model to exploit and promote the value of Tinh Khe coconut forest. After nearly 3 years, Tinh Khe coconut forest has become one of the destinations attracting many tourists.
“Previously, people did tourism on their own, without proper organization, so the local tourism potential could not be fully exploited. Since we established the cooperative and mobilized people to participate, the commune’s tourism activities have increasingly flourished. Along with the cooperative investing in more convenient services, the mangrove forest being recognized as a provincial tourist destination has helped Tinh Khe get its name on the province’s tourism map,” said Mr. Dung.
Dedicated to the village
Nestled next to An Khe lagoon and Sa Huynh coast, Go Co village in Pho Thanh ward (Duc Pho town) still preserves many vestiges of the ancient Sa Huynh culture. The unique and distinctive features of the landscape, combined with the gentleness and simplicity of the people here, have created a famous Go Co community tourism village that everyone wants to visit once to experience.
Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Tien Dung said that, in addition to factors such as resources, infrastructure, facilities, etc., people always play a decisive role in creating a complete tourism product. The good news is that in tourist areas and destinations, more and more young people are participating in managing, exploiting and developing community tourism activities, contributing to improving the efficiency of the province's tourism industry. |
