Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage Nong Quoc Thanh presented the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Certificates for "Social customs and beliefs of Tet Nga Ra" and "Folk performing art of Ca dao" of the Co people to the leaders of Tra Bong district.
Tra Bong is a land with a long history, a long-standing residence of many ethnic communities. Among them, the Co people are one of the indigenous ethnic minorities with a rich and unique culture. The Nga Ra Tet Festival, a unique ritual to pray for a good harvest after each harvest, and the Ca Dao Art, a unique folk performance associated with spiritual life and community activities, are two of the typical cultural features, imbued with national identity.
The recognition of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage is a worthy recognition of the sustainable cultural values preserved and passed down by the Co people through many generations. This is a vivid demonstration of the attention of the Party, the State and the cultural sector to the conservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of ethnic minorities. This contributes to the conservation, teaching, restoration and promotion of heritage values associated with tourism development andeducation of the younger generation.
