What should young people bring when watching parades, fireworks, drones... in Ho Chi Minh City?

Activities such as parades, fireworks displays, and drone performances during the 50th anniversary of the country’s reunification always attract a large number of young people. To have a complete experience, young people not only prepare mentally but also plan carefully, from costumes, accessories to essential items.

Tran Van Tai (24 years old) and Vu Thi My Linh (23 years old, both living in Ben Cat City, Binh Duong Province), said that they both left at 12 midnight and arrived in Ho Chi Minh City at 2 am to choose an ideal location near Hoa Lu Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City) to watch the recent parade.

Not only that, they also wore this outfit to go to the central area to take pictures with the fireworks, check in with the models at Nguyen Hue walking street...

Tai and Linh said they paid attention to every little detail to make their trip to Ho Chi Minh City during this big holiday go smoothly. They brought hand fans, hats, water bottles, and especially shirts printed with the national flag to show their patriotism. Linh shared: "This is an event that only happens once every 50 years, so we tried to prepare very carefully."

Not only Tai and Linh, Huynh Tran Bao Vy (22 years old, living in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City) chose to express her patriotism in her own style. Vy decided to rent a pure white ao dai for 89,000 VND to take photos with the fireworks at Bach Dang wharf park. Not stopping there, she also bought a T-shirt with the stylized words "Vietnam" for 60,000 VND to wear when watching fireworks and drone performances. "I want to wear these outfits to express my love for the nation and preserve beautiful moments during the holiday," Vy excitedly said.

Equally impressive, the three sisters Tran Thi My Linh (19 years old, living in Phu Nhuan District) came up with the idea for a special outfit to participate in the event. They prepared shirts, hats printed with the red flag with a yellow star and a large flag to take souvenir photos. The total cost was about 300,000 VND. This outfit was not only used when watching the parade but also a way for the sisters to respond to the patriotic movement.

Linh said that all three of them took the afternoon off from work on April 28 to have time to take photos and immerse themselves in the festival atmosphere. "We want everyone to see that young people are also very enthusiastic and proud of their country," Linh shared.

Meanwhile, Tran Thi Kim Dinh and Luu Thi Kim Loan (29 years old, from An Giang ) brought the characteristics of their hometown when participating in events in Ho Chi Minh City. The two girls prepared T-shirts and scarves typical of the Western region and bought hair clips in the shape of the red flag with a yellow star to stand out more.

Loan said they came to watch the parade from 5am but couldn't find a seat and had to stand far away to watch. So the two girls gave advice: "Everyone should go early, bring fans, drinks, and small chairs to watch more comfortably. Even though it's a bit inconvenient for us to stand far away, the patriotic spirit is still full."

Besides young people who participate to enjoy and express their patriotism, there are those who take advantage of the festival atmosphere to do business. Bui Thi Trang and Le Thi Phuong, students of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, quickly seized the opportunity by selling hats printed with the national flag for 80,000 to 100,000 VND. Notably, when buying hats, customers also receive a free flag and sticker.

Having only been in business for two days, the two girls have attracted a large number of customers, with some even buying 4-5 hats. "We were surprised by the high demand. This also shows how strong the patriotism of young people is," Trang shared.

For example, go early to choose a good location, bring essential items such as mini chairs, hand fans, water bottles, hats, apply enough sunscreen, bring a raincoat...

"Shirts, hats, hair clips or flags printed with the national flag not only help you stand out but also show national pride. If you live far away, calculate the time to arrive on time and avoid traffic jams," Phuong said.
