
Vietnamese people spend an average of nearly 34,000 billion VND (about 1.3 billion USD) to buy goods on Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada and Tiki every month.
The third quarter online retail market report of e-commerce data platform Metric said that the transaction volume (GMV) in the first 9 months of the year on Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada, and Tiki reached VND305,900 billion, an increase of 34.35% over the same period in 2024. On average, GMV reached nearly VND34,000 billion per month, equivalent to USD1.3 billion.
In the same period of 2024, this figure is approximately one billion USD per month and includes statistics from Sendo when it was a multi-industry retail platform. In the third quarter, the sales of the four platforms reached 103,600 billion VND, an increase of 22.25%.
According to Metric, the market is growing thanks to increased consumption, platforms promoting incentives, supporting shipping costs, investing in livestreams and short video content to stimulate demand. By the third quarter, Shopee continued to account for more than half of the industry's GMV (56%), but TikTok Shop is growing rapidly, with a market share of 41%.
