Poet Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association, said that before the seminar "50 years of Vietnamese literature since 1975: Perspectives of young writers", the Vietnam Writers Association organized three seminars on Vietnamese literature from 1975 to present, thereby summarizing the achievements and pointing out what hinders the development of Vietnamese literature.

At this discussion, the Organizing Committee hopes that young writers, members, non-members and non-members of the Vietnam Writers Association, will give their views, assessments and questions about the past 50 years of literature, about the authors and works that appeared many years before they were born. According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association, this is very important because young writers are the future of Vietnamese literature.

Writer Nguyen Hoang Dieu Thuy expressed optimism about the literary achievements of the past 50 years and said that, as an editor of a large publishing house, working for many years, receiving five to seven hundred manuscripts each year, she realized that: Despite the invasion of audio-visual culture, young people still have a strong desire to become writers, this is the need for creativity, the joy of storytelling. However, besides their own internal strength, young writers need practical support in publishing, domestic promotion, and translation abroad.

Writer Le Quang Trang expressed pride when looking back at 50 years of Vietnamese literature, and at the same time recognized the responsibility of young writers. However, the writer also said that in order for young writers to be able to “live, write, and go further”, we need a national strategy to promote Vietnamese literature to the world , linked with cinema, tourism, theater, and visual arts. We need to give more opportunities to young writers through creative funds, translation programs, extended writing camps, and international exchange forums.
