Many shows during Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris, France, are at risk of being canceled as riots in the country have entered their sixth consecutive night.
Previously, on July 2, the French Fashion Federation said the situation had shown signs of easing tension in the inner city and around the capital Paris.
This has allowed many famous fashion houses to proceed with their shows as planned. However, French fashion house Celine recently announced the cancellation of its menswear show, which was previously scheduled for July 2.
Celine Creative Director Hedi Slimane said it was "inconsiderate" to continue holding Paris Haute Couture Week amid the unrest in the capital.
Riots have erupted in France in recent days after police shot dead a 17-year-old boy, identified as Nahel M, for not obeying police orders while participating in traffic.
On June 30, France deployed 45,000 police and several armored vehicles to respond to violent protests. Meanwhile, French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne announced the cancellation of large-scale events nationwide.
