Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen won the title of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024

Outstandingly surpassing the remaining 19 contestants, former Miss Vietnam 2014 Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen, a girl from Nam Dinh city, won the highest position of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024.

The first runner-up position belongs to contestant Nguyen Quynh Anh ( Hanoi ), the second runner-up position belongs to Vu Thuy Quynh (Dien Bien).

Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen was born on November 13, 1996 in Nam Dinh, is a model and former Miss Vietnam 2014. When crowned, Ky Duyen was a first-year student of the Faculty of Foreign Economics , Foreign Trade University, Hanoi. Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen has been a coach in major beauty contests such as The Look Vietnam 2017, Vietnam Supermodel 2018, The Face Vietnam (season 4), Miss Fitness Vietnam 2022...

Returning to a beauty pageant as a contestant is a challenge, and also brings great pressure to Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen. She said that she participated in Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 to fulfill her dream of raising the Vietnamese national flag in an international competition.

The final night of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 contest will take place at 8:00 p.m. on September 14 at Phu Tho Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City).

At the final night, the contestants were selected into the Top 16, Top 10 and Top 5 respectively.

The Top 5 include contestants Paris Bao Nhi (Ho Chi Minh City), Vu Thuy Quynh (Dien Bien), Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen (Nam Dinh), Nguyen Quynh Anh (Hanoi), Quach Tapiau Maily (Ho Chi Minh City).

The contestants who made it to the Top 5 had to go through a behavioral round with active choice questions. The 3 best contestants continued and answered the same question: "Beauty contests are essentially just for entertainment. The crowned girl cannot represent the women of an entire country. Do you agree or disagree?"

Nguyen Quynh Anh expressed that each beauty contest has its own criteria and Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 will find a girl who has all the elements to spread positive values to the community. Quynh Anh also expressed her hope that there will be more contests like this, to find talented girls who contribute to the country.

Contestant Vu Thuy Quynh again expressed her opposition to the question. She shared about herself as a girl from a mountainous area with many difficulties, always striving to reach her dream. Vu Thuy Quynh believes that believing in herself is the key to help her develop and achieve success.

As the last person to answer the question, Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen said that the beauty of a girl cannot represent the women of an entire country, but her story can inspire everyone. She shared that over the past 10 years, she has always strived to improve herself to be able to represent Vietnam in the international arena. The beauty affirmed that always pursuing her own ideals is a premise to contribute to the development of the country.

At the final night, the Organizing Committee awarded secondary prizes such as the Photogenic Beauty award to Doan Tuong Linh, Talented Beauty award to Phi Phuong Anh, Behavioral Beauty award to Doan Thi Thu Ha, Most Effective Community Project award to 2 contestants Do Thu Ha and Vu Thuy Quynh, Evening Gown Beauty award to Paris Bao Nhi, Impressive National Cultural Costume Performance award to Vu Thuy Quynh, Swimsuit Performance award to Quach Tapiau Mai Ly (020).

Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen also won the "Most Favorite Contestant" sub-award.

This year's Miss Universe Vietnam contest has many strong contestants, even famous in the fields of performing arts, fashion... such as Quach Tapiau Mai Ly, Vu Thuy Quynh, Do Thu Ha (Ha Kino), Luong Hoa Dan (1st runner-up of Miss Vietnam Ethnic Groups), Nguyen Quynh Anh (supermodel)...

On the night of her coronation, Miss Ky Duyen announced that she would donate 500 million VND from her prize money to support people in the northern provinces affected by floods. She will use the rest to prepare for her trip to Mexico to compete in Miss Universe 2024. If there is any left, she will continue to send support to people in flooded areas through the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
