The first mobile network to activate SIM via VNeID

FPT is the first mobile network operator in Vietnam to deploy SIM card activation through identity authentication using the national electronic identification account (VNeID).

Accordingly, from now on, customers using FPT mobile network can register and activate their own SIM card right on the FPT Shop application through identity authentication using VNeID account.

Specifically, users log in to the FPT Shop application, select “Activate SIM”, then select activate with electronic identification account - VNeID to authenticate identification information. The FPT Shop application will automatically link with the VNeID application to authenticate data and complete the activation registration.

According to the representative of this network, the entire activation process is absolutely confidential and the subscriber will be confirmed as the owner immediately after completing the registration steps.

By applying identity authentication using VNeID, customers can proactively carry out the entire registration and activation process of FPT SIM online, saving time and without having to go to the store or bring a hard copy of their ID card.

This form of authentication also eliminates the risk of document forgery, because user information has been identified and authenticated by state management agencies.

Mobile network operators allowing users to activate SIM cards via VNeID is considered an important step in the journey to promote digital transformation applications according to the Government 's direction, while contributing to standardizing mobile subscribers and preventing the situation of junk SIM cards in the market.
