Khanh Hoa: A large number of tourists going on island tours caused a 3km traffic jam on some roads in Nha Trang City on the morning of February 14.

From 9:30 a.m., the traffic moved inch by inch along the coastal road of Tran Phu, leading to the piers and cable cars for locals and tourists to take island tours. The small streets parallel to Tran Phu, which had little traffic, were also congested.

According to local residents, the number of cars and buses on the road mostly come from southern provinces and neighboring Khanh Hoa. The sudden increase in vehicles has caused congestion on Tran Phu Street, stretching over 3 km. Traffic police had to mobilize forces to regulate traffic and limit congestion.

Mr. Trung Thu, who returned to his hometown in Khanh Hoa to celebrate Tet, said that since the highways were put into operation, shortening the distance from the southern provinces to Nha Trang, the streets here are always crowded during the holidays. On this occasion, Mr. Trung and his family visited relatives and also took the opportunity to visit Hon Tre Island. "Although the traffic was a bit congested, it was quite comfortable for my family," Mr. Thu said.

During the 7-day Tet holiday, Khanh Hoa province has prepared many activities to attract people and tourists to come and enjoy, such as the Spring Flower Festival and food fair. Hotels and resorts also organize many Tet programs and promotions to stimulate tourism. The room occupancy rate of accommodation facilities is about 80%, mainly peaking from the 2nd to the 5th of Tet, 4-5 star resorts in coastal areas have an occupancy rate of over 90%.
