According to a report from Yen Phu Primary School, on the morning of September 5, the school held the opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 school year.

A student is being treated in hospital after a balloon exploded.

At the opening ceremony, the school prepared two bunches of balloons to place on the stage. At the end of the ceremony, the students returned to their classrooms for their first lessons. At this time, some students went up to the stands to get balloons to play with.

At the same time, Mr. Le Huy Chinh - a teacher at Yen Phu Primary School, passed by, holding a cigarette in his hand and accidentally touched a balloon that exploded, causing 10 students to suffer minor burns.

After the incident, the school board and teachers took the students to Yen Phu Commune Health Station for first aid. Afterwards, the victims were transferred to Yen Dinh District General Hospital for treatment.

Currently, the health of 10 students has stabilized and continues to be monitored.
