Writer Nguyen Khac Truong is a familiar name in Vietnamese literature, known to the public through many works, of which The Land of Many People and Many Ghosts is a special mark.

The novel was adapted into a TV series Land and People in 2011, broadcast on VTV and received love from the audience. The work tells the story of family conflicts and power struggles in Gieng Chua village, where the Trinh and Vu families are intertwined with resentment and calculations.
Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association, Nguyen Quang Thieu, commented: "The work "Land of Many People and Many Ghosts" is like a prophecy about the society we live in, a world where humans and ghosts are mixed together. Writer Nguyen Khac Truong has painted a picture of fierce but profound reality."
Mr. Thieu also shared about the late writer's simple and honest life, emphasizing that he was always clear and distinct about right and wrong and was a person of strong character.
Writer Suong Nguyet Minh, a close friend of writer Nguyen Khac Truong, recalls the time when he used the pen name "Thao Truong" during the period of composing works about the soldier's life such as Border Gate, Forest Waterfall and Sun Land ... However, it was the Land of Many People and Many Ghosts that helped his name penetrate the hearts of readers. "Nguyen Khac Truong lived a full life of writing, without any regrets and always at peace with what he had accomplished," writer Suong Nguyet Minh shared.
In his final years, Nguyen Khac Truong maintained a peaceful spirit. Friends who visited him heard him express his serenity about death, saying that he had lived long enough and had no regrets. The writer's optimism and open heart left a deep impression on those who loved him.
Writer Nguyen Khac Truong was born in 1946 in Dong Hy, Thai Nguyen , enlisted in 1965 and served in the Air Defense - Air Force. After studying at Nguyen Du Writing School, he became an editor at the Army Literature Magazine and later held many important positions such as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Literature Newspaper, Editor-in-Chief of the Writers Association Publishing House. He has contributed significantly to Vietnamese literature with many valuable works.
Writer Nguyen Khac Truong was awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts in 2007 and other prestigious awards in his rich literary career.
