After another draw last weekend, Juventus have fallen further behind in the Serie A title race and will be looking to pick up all three points against Bologna on Saturday.
While Juve were held to a stoppage-time draw by Lecce, resurgent visitors Bologna have won both their domestic league and cup games this week, scoring a total of seven goals without conceding.
Latest Juventus vs Bologna squad information
Amid a long injury crisis, Juventus could see light at the end of the tunnel this weekend as young defender Nicolo Savona and top scorer Dusan Vlahovic are expected to return to the squad after a spell on the sidelines.
Vlahovic has scored six Serie A goals against Bologna, although his last open-play goal at the Allianz Stadium came 12 games ago, in February.
Substitute striker Arkadiusz Milik (knee injury) is out, along with the South American quartet of Juan Cabal, Bremer (both ACL injuries), Nico Gonzalez (thigh) and Douglas Luiz (muscle injury). However, Weston McKennie could return after missing the trip to Lecce with a muscle problem.
Meanwhile, Bologna’s attack will be led by rising star Santiago Castro, who has scored five goals and provided five assists in all competitions this season – a feat only three other Serie A players have achieved, Ademola Lookman, Christian Pulisic and Romelu Lukaku, and Castro is the youngest of them all, at six years older.
After making a number of changes for the midweek cup tie - in which Castro continued to score - manager Vincenzo Italiano is likely to revert to a full-strength squad, with Lukasz Skorupski, Dan Ndoye and Sam Beukema all set to return.
Long-term absentees Nicolo Cambiaghi and Oussama El Azzouzi remain sidelined along with Swiss midfielder Michel Aebischer, while there are concerns over the fitness of Thijs Dallinga and Riccardo Orsolini, with Orsolini suffering a thigh injury on Tuesday.

Latest Juventus vs Bologna football review
After two goalless draws over the international break, Juventus were disappointed again in their last outing, with Andrea Cambiaso's goal only earning them a point against struggling Serie A side Lecce.
Ante Rebic scored a late equaliser for Lecce at the Stadio Via del Mare, leaving Juve five places and six points behind leaders Napoli.
The result means former Bologna coach Thiago Motta has drawn 10 of his first 19 games in charge of Juventus - despite losing just one - and his side have only won six of their 14 Serie A games.
Following in the footsteps of predecessor Max Allegri, who placed a premium on safety, Motta's side have kept clean sheets in all but four Serie A games this season; another clean sheet this weekend would set a new club record for an early season.
However, Bianconeri fans are now demanding more, as they sense that the Scudetto could be an open and winnable race.
Like their next opponents, Juve are also in the Champions League, where they are just two points off a top-eight spot, with three group games remaining - while their Coppa Italia campaign is due to begin later this month.
Unbeaten in 24 meetings with Bologna - winning 17 - Juventus will be hoping to continue that form on Saturday night, before facing Premier League champions Manchester City next week.
Given Juve's recent trend of draws, the two sides have drawn all three of their last meetings, including a dramatic six-goal affair in Bologna last season, when the visitors came back from three goals down.
The Rossoblu, who lost coach Motta to Juventus, are now just five points behind the hosts when the two teams meet again at the Allianz Stadium after an improvement in form.
Bologna have won four of their last five Serie A games - equalling their previous tally of wins in 17 - and have returned to the top half of the table after a difficult start under Vincenzo Italiano.
In fact, after last week's 3-0 win over Venezia, only Atalanta BC have picked up more points than Bologna in their last five games. In-form winger Riccardo Orsolini scored from the penalty spot in that game and was on target again on Tuesday.
Bologna secured a convincing Coppa Italia win over Monza to book their place in the quarter-finals with two goals in either half; only a troubled Champions League campaign could dim the bright picture at the Stadio Dall'Ara.
In Europe's top club competition - which Motta took Bologna into after more than 60 years - the team are currently near the bottom of the table after defeat to Lille last time out, so next week's game against Benfica will be a do-or-die affair.
