According to preliminary statistics just announced by the General Department of Customs, by the end of November, the total import turnover of goods nationwide reached 345.62 billion USD, an increase of 16.3% (equivalent to an increase of 48.62 billion USD) compared to the same period last year.
In terms of market, Vietnam still imports the most goods from China. By the end of November, import turnover from this neighboring market reached 130.51 billion USD, a sharp increase of 30.1% (equivalent to an increase of 30.2 billion USD) compared to the same period last year, accounting for 38% of the country's total import turnover.
Notably, the above result is also the largest import figure ever from the Chinese market. Because, last year, the import turnover from China only reached nearly 111 billion USD, and in 2022 it will only be nearly 118 billion USD...
Other major import markets include: South Korea reached 51.13 billion USD, up 6.9% (equivalent to an increase of 3.3 billion USD) over the same period last year; ASEAN reached 42.46 billion USD, up 14% (equivalent to an increase of 5.2 billion USD); Taiwan (China) reached 20.73 billion USD, up 22.4% (equivalent to an increase of 3.79 billion USD); EU reached 15.23 billion USD, up 11.8% (equivalent to an increase of 1.6 billion USD); the United States reached 13.56 billion USD, up 7.9% (equivalent to an increase of 994 million USD)...
In addition to growth in most major markets, one major market with falling import turnover was Japan.
By the end of November, total import turnover from Japan reached 19.58 billion USD, down 0.9% (equivalent to a decrease of 174 million USD) compared to the same period last year.
