Many job and vocational training opportunities open up for demobilized soldiers

In order to create job and vocational training opportunities for soldiers preparing to be discharged from the army, the Hanoi Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in coordination with the Capital Command organized a specialized vocational training session for soldiers who are discharged from the army.


According to information from the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Hanoi, every year, Hanoi has thousands of young people leaving for military service and the same number of people returning to their hometowns after being discharged.

In order to effectively implement the military rear policy, in recent times, the Hanoi Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has directed relevant units such as the Hanoi Employment Service Center to have practical solutions and proactively orient employment solutions for this labor force.

Speaking at the Job Fair for Demobilized Soldiers, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Tay Nam said: “Demobilized soldiers are a workforce with professional qualifications, have undergone military training, are in good health, have a high sense of discipline and are responsible when performing assigned tasks.

However, many people still have difficulty finding a place to learn a trade or a suitable job to develop their abilities and knowledge after completing their military service and returning to their hometown.

This youth force needs to be counseled, guided, trained, and given suitable jobs to contribute to building a quality workforce for the capital.

“Organizing a specialized vocational training session for demobilized soldiers is very practical in helping young people and demobilized soldiers find jobs, stabilize their lives, reduce unemployment rates, and encourage young people to feel secure about their future before joining the army,” emphasized Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Tay Nam.

Colonel Nguyen Hong Duong, Deputy Chief of Politics , Capital Command, affirmed the effectiveness of organizing the specialized training session for demobilized soldiers.

“This is a quality labor force that has been trained in a highly disciplined environment. Colonel Nguyen Hong Duong suggested that businesses, employers, and schools pay more attention and create more favorable conditions for career guidance, vocational training, and job referrals for demobilized soldiers,” Colonel Nguyen Hong Duong emphasized.

The specialized job placement session for demobilized soldiers on December 28 had 32 participating units and enterprises mainly operating in the fields of trade - services, production, vocational training, etc. with a total demand for recruitment, enrollment and labor export of 2,555 targets with diverse occupations.

Enterprises offer 4 salary segments including: 5 - 7 million VND/month, 7 - 10 million VND/month, 10 - 15 million VND/month and from 15 million VND/month or more.

Sharing at the job fair, Director of Viettel Post Hanoi Branch Vu Ngoc Quang said: Participating in today's job fair, Viettel Hanoi hopes to recruit workers with guaranteed quantity and quality from the labor source in Hanoi to work at the company.

"Discharged soldiers are our special target, because they have served in the military, so their working style and manners are suitable for a military unit like ours," said the Director of Viettel Post Hanoi Branch.

When becoming an employee of Viettel Hanoi, employees will have a salary ranging from 13 - 20 million VND/month, participate in insurance and receive holiday and Tet bonuses, gifts from the company, union, travel...

At the specialized GDVL session for demobilized soldiers, there are also more than 300 enrollment targets and a variety of professions such as: programming, graphic design, aviation engineering staff, driving...

According to the reporter's records, the recruitment and vocational training area attracts many young people and soldiers about to complete their military service to come and learn, register to apply, and learn a trade.

A representative of the Vocational College of Transport and Public Works said: The school participated in the specialized vocational training session for demobilized soldiers to convey information and values ​​of the school to the soldiers.

“The school commits that 100% of students after graduation will be arranged jobs that match their abilities. For those who are soldiers after being discharged from the army, if they study at the school, there will be many preferential policies specifically for them,” said a school representative.

At the GDVL Session, soldiers who are about to complete their military service learned a lot of information about vocational training and job opportunities so that they can join the labor market in mid-January 2025.

Soldier Ho Ba Thanh from the Information Battalion of the Hanoi Capital Command confided: “Coming to the job fair, I hope to find a job that is a bit challenging for me and requires creativity. At the job fair, I was guided by the staff of the Hanoi Employment Service Center to find a vocational school and apply to businesses.”

Soldier Lam Duc Duy of the Military Control and Guard Battalion, Hanoi Capital Command also said that participating in the GDVL session helps soldiers who are about to complete their military service and return to normal life like you to have career orientation for themselves.

“Coming to the GDVL session, experiencing and learning about a variety of professions is an extremely valuable asset for me. This is extremely useful information, helping me choose a suitable job for myself, and stabilize my life after being discharged from the army,” Duy shared.
