Many activities to celebrate the United Nations Vesak Day 2025 in Khanh Hoa

On April 28, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Khanh Hoa province informed that the Provincial People's Committee has approved the organization of many activities to celebrate the 2025 United Nations Day of Vesak in Khanh Hoa.

Accordingly, from May 4 to 12, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province will organize many activities to celebrate the United Nations Vesak 2025 such as: The Buddha procession will take place at 6:00 p.m. on May 4 (from Sac Tu Hoi Phuoc Pagoda to the Long Son Pagoda stage); releasing 7 giant lotus flowers on the Cai River at 8:00 p.m. on May 4 at the Muong Thanh embankment - Ha Ra bridge; the music program "Lotus radiates forever" at 7:00 p.m. on May 10 at 2-4 Square, Nha Trang City, with the participation of an Indian art troupe along with more than 300 actors, artists of the Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe and Buddhists. The official ceremony of the Buddha's Birthday will take place at 6:00 a.m. on May 12 and 3,000 flower lanterns will be released at 6:30 p.m. on May 12 at the Muong Thanh embankment - Ha Ra bridge...

Long Son Pagoda decorated to welcome the United Nations Vesak Day 2025.

The United Nations Vesak Day is a cultural activity of the United Nations, commemorating the birth, enlightenment and passing into nirvana of Buddha Shakyamuni. Since 2000, the United Nations Vesak Day has been held 19 times at the United Nations headquarters and in countries around the world .

Vietnam has successfully hosted and organized three United Nations Vesak celebrations in 2008, 2014 and 2019. This year's 20th United Nations Vesak celebration will be hosted by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City from May 6 to 8, with delegations from 80 countries and 5 territories expected to attend.
