Many practical activities to celebrate major holidays

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); 139th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2025); 71st anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory Day (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2025), the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District will organize many meaningful activities to create a vibrant competitive atmosphere towards the country's major holidays.

Accordingly, the district will promote propaganda activities, educate political ideology, historical traditions, and culture; foster and promote patriotism, self-reliance, and the spirit of great national unity, contributing to consolidating and fostering people's trust in the Party, State, and social regime.

Along with the implementation of decoration and visual propaganda, especially on main streets and headquarters of Party and State agencies, Hoan Kiem district will carry out renovation, ensure environmental hygiene; decorate with lights, flowers and ornamental plants according to the direction of the City People's Committee.

The district will also promote the movement to build a civilized lifestyle, maintain general cleaning work on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings every week, raise awareness of maintaining environmental hygiene regularly in each family; not allow the situation of illegal markets, temporary markets encroaching on sidewalks and roads...

Notably, the district will mobilize people to decorate mobile roofs and awnings, ensuring urban aesthetics at constructions and houses. Along with that, it will decorate flowers and ornamental plants on the balconies of households on the streets, especially main streets and central areas, creating a bright - green - clean - beautiful landscape to celebrate the country's major holidays.

To ensure urban aesthetics, Hoan Kiem district has also developed plans and solutions to ensure environmental sanitation in the district; especially the Hoan Kiem Lake area; organized timely collection and transportation, not leaving waste stagnant during the day. Along with that, public trash bins and garbage collection vehicles will be cleaned, ensuring a bright - green - clean - beautiful environment.

Towards the country's major holidays, Hoan Kiem District will also organize a series of cultural, artistic, physical education, sports activities, book exhibitions, photo exhibitions, club activities at agencies, units, schools, historical sites, district and ward libraries and Hanoi Book Street. Many art programs and outdoor performances will also be organized to spread the spirit of patriotism, the desire to contribute and serve the cultural and artistic enjoyment needs of the majority of people in Hoan Kiem District and Hanoi Capital.
