(HGO) - On the evening of April 19, the People's Committee of Hau Giang province organized activities in response to the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day on April 19.
Attending were Mr. Tran Van Huyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ms. Ma Thi Tuoi, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Provincial Association of Patriotic Monks and Monks, dignitaries, religious leaders, representatives of ethnic minorities, leaders of departments, branches, unions, districts, towns, cities...
Mr. Tran Van Huyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council , awarded a certificate of merit to the representative of the team from Long My district, who won first prize at this year's Festival.
In response to the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day this year, Hau Giang organized many activities: Visual propaganda, exhibition of images, books, display of tools, instruments, and traditional products of the ethnic communities living in the area.
In particular, the Vietnam Ethnic Arts Festival in Hau Giang province, with the participation of more than 200 singers and actors from 8 districts, towns and cities in the province.

Currently , the province has 7,581 households with 28,950 ethnic minority people, accounting for 3.97% of the province's population. In recent years, many policies, programs and projects of the Government and the province have been issued and effectively implemented ; the cultural values and spiritual life of ethnic minorities have been cared for, preserved, maintained and constantly promoted; the cause of education and training, improving people's knowledge and quality of human resources have been focused on; medical work and health care for the people have been regularly paid attention to; political security and social order and safety in ethnic minority areas have been stabilized and maintained; the Great National Unity bloc has been consolidated and strengthened...
Here, Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen (photo above), Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, informed about the development situation of Hau Giang province in the first quarter of 2024: Hau Giang has an economic growth rate of GRDP reaching 6.83%; the economic structure has shifted in the right direction. Production and business activities in most fields continue to grow well; budget revenue in the area reaches 30.5% of the Central budget estimate, reaching 25.5% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council.
Achieving this result is in no small part due to the efforts of the ethnic people living in the province. We hope that the people will continue to promote the spirit of self-reliance, solidarity, gradually improve their material and spiritual life, and contribute to the development of Hau Giang province.
* In a series of activities in response to the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day, the Hau Giang Province Ethnic Arts Festival took place on April 19, attracting the participation of more than 200 mass actors from 8 districts, towns and cities in the province. The units brought unique performances, reflecting the unique culture of the province's ethnic communities.
The organizing committee awarded the first prize to Long My district; second prize to Vi Thuy district, Long My town; third prize to Nga Bay city, Chau Thanh A district and Vi Thanh city. The remaining units shared the consolation prize.
There were also 10 performance awards and 10 best actor awards given.
