On April 24, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society informed about the Humanitarian Month 2025 with the theme "Humanitarian Journey - Spreading Love".
Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh - Vice President, General Secretary, Executive Director of the Vietnam Red Cross Society said that Humanitarian Month is "The peak month for the whole people to do humanitarian work", with the goal of promoting the spirit of mutual love and affection, spreading humanitarian values in the community, arousing social responsibility, volunteering spirit, improving the effectiveness of mobilizing resources to help vulnerable groups, and at the same time expressing deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

“Humanitarian Month is not just a series of Red Cross activities of a mass nature. It is a journey of connecting hearts - where every heart, every gesture, every action, no matter how small, can contribute to making a big change in the lives of those in need,” Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh emphasized.
The peak activities of the Humanitarian Month 2025 took place from May 8-19. Within the framework of the launching ceremony of the national Humanitarian Month 2025 on May 7 and 8, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society to organize many activities such as: Offering incense at historical sites; offering flowers to report the merits of President Ho Chi Minh at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument; organizing humanitarian activities to support the community (donating blood; giving scholarships, free medical examinations and medicine, 0 VND supermarkets...; photo exhibition of Humanitarian Month activities of provincial and municipal associations; organizing booths displaying communication products and health consultation.

During the Humanitarian Month of 2025, the entire Association organized a series of activities to strive to achieve the following targets: 200,000 people participated in walking/running in response to the Campaign "Millions of Compassionate Steps - Continuing the Golden History" on the online sports platform vRace, reaching 5,000,000 km, corresponding to a fundraising budget of 5 billion VND to implement humanitarian assistance activities.
Support 100,000 humanitarian addresses (individuals and groups) with a variety of activities: Organizing incense offerings and visits to 500 martyrs' cemeteries and historical revolutionary sites; visiting and giving gifts to families of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of martyrs, war invalids, veterans, and former youth volunteers in difficult circumstances; organizing 50 medical examination, health consultation, medicine provision, and gift giving programs with a scale of 300 to 500 people/program; supporting the construction of 500 Red Cross houses (valued at 50 million VND/household); supporting the livelihoods of 500 poor and disadvantaged households, valued at 15 million VND/household; supporting the construction/repair of kitchens, providing clean water, and bookshelves for 50 schools in difficult conditions, valued at 300 million VND/school; mobilizing 5,000 people to register to donate human tissues and organs; Training, drills on safety skills, first aid, etc.
In particular, the highlight of this year is the series of peak activities of the program "Humanitarian Journey - Spreading Love" in the three provinces of Quang Tri, Dak Lak, Dong Thap from May 5-6 towards the event of the National Humanitarian Month Launch Ceremony in 2025. The activities will take place here: Visiting and presenting gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of martyrs, families of veterans, former youth volunteers in difficult circumstances; Supporting the construction of Red Cross houses, worth at least 50 million VND/household; Supporting the livelihoods of poor households, households in difficult circumstances, worth 10-15 million VND/household; Supporting the construction/repair of boarding kitchens, worth 300 million VND/newly built kitchen, 150 million VND/repaired kitchen...
