On July 31, the survey delegation of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society, led by Chairman Nguyen Dac Vinh, worked with the Hanoi Center for Drug, Cosmetic and Food Testing on the implementation of policies and laws on preventing and combating counterfeit drugs and fake food.
At the meeting, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Drug, Cosmetic and Food Testing Center Nguyen Thanh Dat said that the funding for the center's operations is mainly provided by the budget, in addition to service revenue, but it is still low; the facilities are old, many items and equipment are degraded and damaged, not ensuring the implementation of professional work. The center has not yet invested in software for testing, so it faces difficulties in sample management, data connection between specialized departments and functional rooms.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dat also made many recommendations to improve policies and laws in the fields of pharmaceuticals, food safety and in the organization and implementation of state management of pharmaceuticals and food safety. That is to add specific regulations on quality standards (minimum indicators, required limits of indicators, testing methods, periodic updates of quality standards, etc.) for food products that must register product declarations and have a mechanism to share information on quality standards of registered/declared products from management and licensing agencies to the testing system, etc.
The Committee on Culture and Society and the Committee on Science , Technology and Environment will coordinate to organize a session to explain the prevention of counterfeit drugs and fake foods.
Chairman of the Committee for Culture and Social Affairs Nguyen Dac Vinh
