Many clinics operate without a license.

On December 28, the Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced decisions on administrative sanctions against organizations and individuals who committed violations in the health sector.

Accordingly, Minh Duc Traditional Medicine Clinic Company Limited (861 Pham Van Dong, Linh Tay Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) was fined 23 million VND; the violated exhibits were drugs of unknown origin. The reason was that the facility had a signboard but did not have enough basic information as prescribed; did not list service prices; and traded in goods of unknown origin. Also at this address, Dr. Hoang Thi Tuong Vi was fined 2 million VND by the authorities and had her practice certificate revoked for 2 months for not keeping medical records in accordance with regulations.

The Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health fined Phuong Dong Seoul Medical Clinic Co., Ltd. (No. 9, Street 12, Thao Dien Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) VND 120 million; fined Dinh Tuyen Aesthetics business household (No. 370, 3/2 Street, Ward 12, District 10) VND 60 million; and suspended the operations of these two units until they have an operating license.

The Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health also decided to fine Nhan Hau International General Clinic Company Limited (522-524-526 Nguyen Chi Thanh, Ward 7, District 10) and Minh Son Medical Company Limited (177-177A Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, Ward 12, District 5) each VND8 million for providing health certificates without performing a full examination as required.
