In 2023, a type of "Da Lat agricultural product", fresh chili, was sold for the first time live on the TikTok Shop platform, achieving unexpected success. 3 tons of fresh chili were chosen by consumers in just one session.

The successful seller is Nguyen Thi Tuong Thao, also known as Thao Mola - owner of the Tiktok channel "Strange dishes from home" with over 310,000 followers and 2.6 million likes.

Currently, "Mon la vuon nha" is a popular channel on Tiktok Shop with agricultural products and has become a source of inspiration for those who want to try their hand at e-commerce.

Up to now, "Da Lat agricultural products" is a popular keyword on e-commerce platforms, through online stores or livestream sessions.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, owner of the Tiktok channel "Chieu coi than vui" ( Thai Binh province), grew up in a village with a 400-year-old sedge weaving profession. He boldly innovated his business methods, bringing his products to consumers nationwide through e-commerce platforms.

Through e-commerce platforms, producers sell directly to consumers at reasonable prices. Previously, sedge was usually sold to traders... so no matter how beautiful the product was, producers still could not sell it at a worthy value, while the product reaching consumers was priced 2-3 times higher.

Thanks to the e-commerce application to connect directly with customers, the number of mats Minh Tuan sold has reached 30,000, business growth many times higher than before.

Ms. Tran Thi Tan, Director of Social Responsibility at TikTok Vietnam, said that the community initiative "Proud of Vietnamese Products" is a cooperation program between TikTok Shop and management agencies, aiming to support local businesses, traditional market traders and young workers to improve their e-commerce capacity at a professional level, creating momentum for Vietnamese products to make a breakthrough.

Recently, Tiktok Shop has cooperated with the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) to implement a regional e-commerce week, called "Go online", in all 6 economic regions.

The program's core activities are in-depth training on e-commerce, including: Legal framework, tax management regulations; business development plans; digital advertising solutions to equip businesses and young human resources in localities with knowledge and skills to develop sustainable e-commerce businesses.

This is an important innovation. If in the past, support only focused on helping learners get acquainted with doing business on e-commerce platforms, now it is specific and diverse in content, from policies to technical instructions for online sales.

Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh, representative of TikTok Vietnam, said that with the goal of growing together with the local community, TikTok Vietnam strives to build a comprehensive e-commerce ecosystem, creating momentum for local businesses to develop sustainably. “TikTok Shop is committed to accompanying state management agencies, businesses, and small traders to improve digital capacity, giving wings to Vietnamese goods to make a breakthrough,” Mr. Thanh said.

TikTok Shop aims to equip 300,000 traditional market traders nationwide with e-commerce business skills. At the same time, to enhance the capacity of the young workforce (KOLs and KOCs) who are actively participating in the development of e-commerce, TikTok Shop is coordinating with units and associations to implement an in-depth training program on the regulations of the Advertising Law. Industries that are strengths of Vietnam such as fruits, bird's nests, etc. will be invested in and developed by the platform with new projects announced in the near future.

On May 10 and 11 alone, TikTok Shop had more than 500 Vietnamese goods livestream sessions. Of which, the livestream sessions "Proud of Vietnamese Goods", "OCOP Market", "GreenUP", "Four Seasons Sweet Fruit" were held directly in Hanoi and within 48 hours generated 77,000 orders and reached 1.2 million views.
