Joy on these charitable journeys
In the autumnal colors of September, convoys of vehicles depart from various gathering points in Hai Phong , heading towards Hanoi. The atmosphere on the buses is lively and bustling, much like a festival. For many, this free bus trip is not just a means of transportation, but also a bridge connecting the community and evoking national pride.
At the outdoor exhibition area, the veterans of Ngo Quyen ward, dressed in their finest uniforms, attentively gazed at each photograph and model depicting the country's development journey. Their eyes shone with emotion mixed with pride.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ruan, a veteran from Ngo Quyen ward, shared: “The city's convoy took us to visit Hai Phong's booth at the Exhibition of 80 Years of National Achievements. The atmosphere on the bus was very cheerful, everyone was enthusiastic. This was an extremely meaningful trip, encouraging us to live happily and healthily. On behalf of the delegation, I would like to thank the city leaders for their attention and for creating the conditions for us to have this memorable visit.”
Joining the group, Mr. Le Danh Hung said: “I learned about this through the press and official media channels of the city, so I registered. We are very excited to be able to participate in this free bus trip. This is a timely and close gesture of concern for the people.”

From the west of Hai Phong, driver Vu Xuan Trung, the owner of a small business, safely transported people to Hanoi. He said: “I took people from the Eastern Region Cultural Center to the National Exhibition Center, ensuring absolute safety. Seeing everyone so happy, I also feel happy and proud to have contributed a small part to this meaningful activity.”
When the bus stopped, the locals enthusiastically shared their experiences. Mr. Nguyen Kim Van (Gia Loc commune) recounted: “My friend and I registered via Zalo, then gathered at the Eastern Cultural Center to board the bus. On the morning of September 10th, we were already at the exhibition. Everything was well organized and went smoothly.”

Mr. Hoang Thanh Binh (Tu Minh ward) couldn't hide his emotion: "We gathered at 9 a.m., and there was a vehicle waiting to pick us up. The vehicle even had water, and the tour guide was enthusiastic. We clearly felt the city's concern for its people. We hope there will be more activities like this on other important occasions."
Timely decision-making, meticulous organization.
Behind these heartwarming journeys of transportation lies the timely decision-making and close supervision of the city's leaders. On September 6th, following the urgent directive of the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Le Ngoc Chau, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was tasked with coordinating with the Department of Construction, the City Youth Union, the City Police, and other relevant units to mobilize businesses to provide free transportation for people to visit the "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" Exhibition in Dong Anh (Hanoi). These tasks were promptly implemented on September 7th.

On the afternoon of September 7th, while directly inspecting Hai Phong's exhibition areas at the Exhibition, the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Le Anh Quan, called on transportation and travel businesses to support the city. Responding to the call from the City People's Committee, many businesses readily provided vehicles, personnel, and even a team of guides knowledgeable about culture and history to accompany the people on their journey of over 100km.
Thanks to seamless coordination, the entire plan was completed by 11 PM on September 7th. Prior to that, the local media and press quickly disseminated the information, enabling people to register in time. On the morning of September 8th, the first free buses rolled out, carrying hundreds of residents and tourists from the port city towards Hanoi.
In just the first three days (September 8-10), the city arranged 107 free bus trips departing from the Vietnam-Czech Friendship Labor Cultural Palace and the Eastern Region Cultural Center, serving more than 4,500 Hai Phong residents to visit the National Achievements Exhibition. On September 10 alone, due to a surge in registrations, the city mobilized 52 buses (including 44 47-seater buses and 8 29-seater buses), transporting more than 2,220 people from Hai Phong to the National Exhibition Center for the visit.

In organizing the event, the city paid special attention to families receiving preferential treatment, the elderly, and students. The police force coordinated closely to ensure security and order at the gathering points. Drinking water and cold towels were provided on all buses; Hai Phong city departments and agencies mobilized nearly 90 people to guide and assist the public. In particular, the Hai Phong City Youth Union mobilized an average of 40 volunteers each day, accompanying the public throughout their visit to the exhibition. This thoughtful care made the public clearly feel the support and concern from the city government and the business community.
According to the plan, the free shuttle service will continue until the closing of the Exhibition (September 15th).
