Repairing Hiep Thuong Bridge and Da Vach Bridge

The BOT Road 188 Company Limited has just announced the scheduled maintenance of National Highway 17B, specifically the An Thai - Mao Khe section, under a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) contract.

The construction unit has put up warning signs in the construction area.

Accordingly, there are three main bidding packages: bidding package XL06 for supplementing and replacing parts of the Hiep Thuong Bridge and Da Vach Bridge to serve management, ensure traffic safety and structural safety; bidding package XL07 for repairing damage to the M12 abutment of the Hiep Thuong Bridge; and bidding package XL08 for repairing damage to the asphalt concrete surface of the Hiep Thuong Bridge and Da Vach Bridge.

The construction site is located in Mao Khe ward (Quang Ninh province) and Nhi Chieu and Pham Su Manh wards ( Hai Phong city). The investor is BOT Road 188 Company Limited.

In terms of investment scale, the project focuses on installing additional floor systems and access stairs attached to the pier bodies at the box girder piers of Hiep Thuong Bridge and Da Vach Bridge; repairing damage to abutment M12, replacing expansion joints of Hiep Thuong Bridge; scraping off the asphalt concrete and waterproofing layers, constructing a waterproofing layer and re-laying the asphalt concrete surface of Hiep Thuong and Da Vach bridges…

Construction began on December 13, 2025, and is expected to be completed on February 12, 2026. Upon completion, the project will contribute to improving the quality of operation of National Highway 17B, ensuring traffic safety, and meeting the travel and goods transportation needs of the people.

SBTech Joint Stock Company and 703 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company are the construction contractors.

On December 16th, a representative from 703 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company stated that the unit had completed preparations and would begin scraping the surface of Hiep Thuong Bridge for repairs that evening. Due to construction taking place while the bridge is still in operation, work will primarily be carried out from 6 PM the previous day to 6 AM the following day, during off-peak hours and on weekends. The repairs will be conducted in stages, partially closing the bridge to facilitate construction. Therefore, the construction unit requests that residents plan their routes and comply with traffic regulations to ensure safety when traveling through the area.
