
A damaged and degraded section of National Highway N2
Voters reported that many sections of National Highway N2 have peeling and uneven surfaces, making it difficult for vehicles to move, especially trucks and container trucks. This prolonged situation has had a major impact on traffic safety and transportation activities in the area.
Regarding this content, the Ministry of Construction informed: According to the Road Network Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister, route N2 is located in the Western North-South Expressway, expected to be invested before 2030 with a scale of 6 lanes.
Recently, the Ministry of Construction has directed the Vietnam Road Administration to regularly maintain and repair damaged sections using road economic career funds. The allocated capital in 2024 is about 31.8 billion VND; in 2025 about 37.2 billion VND; in 2026 it is expected to be about 68.5 billion VND.
The Ministry of Construction agrees with the proposal of Tay Ninh voters on the urgent need to upgrade National Highway N2 to meet transportation needs and serve the socio-economic development of the province and the Mekong Delta region; directs the My Thuan Project Management Board to complete the Pre-Feasibility Study Report of the North-South Expressway project in the West, Duc Hoa - My An section, expected to be included in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026-2030./.
