There are many singers and musicians who have to participate and follow that cycle. In reality, many artists, especially young people, perform and compose mainly to follow the crowd's taste, sometimes regardless, so recently there have been "deviation" phenomena among some artists as reported by the press.
In that context, there are some young people who "go against the current". Instead of chasing after profits and economics , they spend their own efforts, time and money to invest in and stage classical and semi-classical concerts to bring this art form closer to the public, contributing to gradually improving the artistic aesthetics of the people in general and the youth in particular.
Concert of Childhood Memory and Classonic in Concert are a series of programs established and maintained by young people in Hanoi for nearly 10 years. Originating from the concern for "output" for students of the symphony instrument department of the Vietnam National Academy of Music and the desire to spread this "high-class" art form to young people, some people like La Tuan Cuong, Mai Xuan Hai... with nothing but "reckless" blood gathered together to make the first program in 2016 with many difficulties and worries, but surprisingly, the first program attracted nearly 800 audiences, showing that in fact this music genre still has a certain audience.
After nearly 10 years of operation, the members have been exploring, learning, and gaining experience after each program, overcoming difficulties in terms of human resources, facilities, and economics... Concert of Childhood Memory and Classonic in Concert have created a certain impression and spread through performances not only in Hanoi but also in Ho Chi Minh City, in which the 3 nights of cinema concert Classonic in Concert #2: To The Line on November 14-15-16 were a proof. The auditorium of the Southern Military Theater (Ho Chi Minh City) was almost full for 3 nights with endless applause.

Success here is not only the reception of the audience but also the happiness of contributing to spreading beauty to gradually shape artistic aesthetics, raising the need to enjoy art of the audience in general and young people in particular.
Bright "musical notes" for cultural and artistic life
In Ho Chi Minh City, there are also young people who are "going against the current" in a similar way, that is the Saigon Winds percussion orchestra. This orchestra is more special, consisting only of instruments (including brass and woodwinds) - percussion, they have re-arranged works for symphony orchestra, from the soundtrack of Japanese animated films Ghibli to Disney... but it sounds just as smooth and majestic.
From the pain of how to make the public know more about this music genre in general and percussion instruments in particular, along with the passion for these instruments, some "odd people" such as: Nguyen Hoang Thien An, Hoang Ngoc Anh Quan, Nguyen Thanh Long... also with only the "blood of recklessness" have gathered "warriors" including conservatory students, professional artists and foreigners living and working in Vietnam but love and play percussion instruments well, even artists playing in world-famous orchestras are interested in participating.

In 2022, Saigon Winds launched its first concert at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, and since then, they have been working and groping with many difficulties. And now, Saigon Winds has also established a certain brand for the music-loving public of Ho Chi Minh City. There were concert nights when the audience... refused to leave, and trumpeter Thien An (also one of the founding members) had to beg: "An and I still have another night tomorrow, please let the artists rest so they can have the strength to perform tomorrow!"
Jokingly called "mutants" because these young people do not follow market trends or at least choose for themselves safe paths such as teaching, participating in programs when invited..., but they go to earn money to nurture their passion, to compensate for the losses of concerts. The gain here is not calculated by material value but by the audience's reception of this genre, the public's understanding and love for these musical instruments. Thien An confided: "The audience may not know what a symphony is, what a trumpet - percussion is, but if you love Japanese or Disney animated films, we will use what you love to lead you to symphony music". What valuable ideas!
Amidst the ever-bustling music market with new faces constantly attracting attention from "big hits" or "noisy" scandals, the young people who "swim against the current" despite being "gentle" have brought us optimistic "melody", bright "musical notes" for cultural and artistic life.
