A bright spot in the ethics of drinking water and remembering its source and the spirit of mutual love can be mentioned in the program to eliminate thousands of temporary and dilapidated houses for policy families and poor households, implemented by the Ministry of Public Security in the Central Highlands provinces.

Mrs. Rah Lan Lo in Chu Prong commune, Gia Lai province, belongs to a family with revolutionary contributions; her husband died early, leaving her to raise her children alone. After her only child got married and moved out, she lived alone in a dilapidated house, relying on a small allowance for her daily activities.

Having been the Chief of Police of Ia Kly Commune (formerly), and after the merger, appointed as Deputy Chief of Police of Chu Prong Commune, Lieutenant Colonel Do Quang Vinh understood her situation well. Right after the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for people with revolutionary contributions and poor households launched by the Ministry of Public Security, Lieutenant Colonel Vinh proposed to support the construction of a new house so that she could have a decent home.

Lieutenant Colonel Do Quang Vinh said: The motto of supporting difficult circumstances is not only financial but also must be expressed with sincere feelings and hearts, so that people feel respected and close. The case of Mrs. Rah Lan Lo is especially difficult because there is no counterpart money, so the house was built entirely with support money.

Neighbors each contributed, those who had money contributed, those who knew how to do it contributed labor. On the day of preparing to open the foundation, the commune police force mobilized officers and soldiers to focus on dismantling the house and clearing the ground. On the day of the stone laying ceremony, the security forces of the village and commune focused on completing the foundation digging, reducing costs and, more importantly, creating a bond with the people.

At the end of July, in Pleiku ward, Gia Lai province, the Ministry of Public Security organized a summary of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the Central Highlands with more than 6,370 completed houses. In Gia Lai province, the Ministry of Public Security supported 231 billion VND, in addition to the contribution of two days' salary of officers and soldiers of more than 5.4 billion VND, the police force of the whole province mobilized officers and soldiers and socialized resources to receive more than 2.78 billion VND, thousands of tons of construction materials, built 31 new houses and renovated dozens of houses.

In addition, the local police and security and order protection forces at the grassroots level participated in more than 5,000 working days to support the locality in removing temporary and dilapidated houses, saving more than 1.5 billion VND in construction costs. In particular, due to unfavorable weather conditions during the rainy season, many houses were at risk of being behind schedule, Gia Lai Provincial Police organized a peak campaign to mobilize 169 officers and soldiers from the provincial police departments, divided into 43 working groups to coordinate with commune-level police to go to the grassroots to support people.
