Charitable housing groups actively contribute to housing support programs for the poor.

In charity and humanitarian activities in the province, there are many meaningful models for the poor, such as: free hospital transport vehicles, charity kitchens, zero-dong stalls, etc. In particular, there are charity house building groups that have provided practical support for the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in localities in the province. In Chau Phu district, charity house building groups actively contribute to housing support programs for the poor and policy families.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tham (Head of the Charity House Building Group in Cai Dau Town, Chau Phu District) said: “Studying and following the example of Uncle Ho and Uncle Ton in caring for people's lives, the members of the group not only build charity houses, but also participate in many social security activities in the locality, such as: Building roads, building bridges, helping the poor, helping poor students go to school... Recently, following the policy of the Party, the State, the local government has promoted the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor. Therefore, the Executive Committee of Hoa Hao Buddhism in Cai Dau Town coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the town and the charity house building group to help people have a spacious and intact house for a better life”.

In the past time, the Cai Dau town charity house building group has built over 600 new Great Unity houses, with a total amount of about 17.8 billion VND for poor, near-poor and extremely disadvantaged households in and outside the district. Each completed house not only helps poor households stabilize their lives, but also demonstrates the care and responsibility of all levels, departments, branches, organizations, philanthropists and the sharing of the community... Thereby, contributing to the good implementation of the Party's policies and the State's policies on ensuring social security, especially implementing the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Government .

For the Charity House Building Team of Binh Phu Commune (Chau Phu District), the members of the team, with a spirit of volunteerism, actively participate in activities according to the motto "those who have money contribute money, those who do not have money contribute labor". In the past time, the Charity House Building Team of Binh Phu Commune has promoted its role and responsibility, coordinated with the union members, association members, and the Front's working committee to repair and build many new Great Unity houses for the people. Contributing to the implementation of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Government, the Charity House Building Team of Binh Phu Commune has built and repaired 7 Great Unity houses. Not only actively supporting the construction of houses for the poor, the members of the team also support neighboring localities such as coordinating with the House Building Team of Binh Chanh Commune to build 5 new houses and repair 1 house, with hundreds of working days.

Mr. Pham Van Hung (Head of the Charity House Building Team in Binh Phu Commune) said: “The members of the team always want to contribute part of their efforts to build Great Unity houses full of love from the Fatherland Front agencies at all levels, contributing to social security work, leaving no one behind. Each member of the team voluntarily contributes 100,000 VND/month to have a source of support for building charity houses. In addition to the monthly contribution, we also mobilize kind-hearted people inside and outside the commune to support the cost of buying zinc, corrugated iron... to build houses for poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households. At the same time, mobilize the family and relatives of the person receiving support to contribute, to demonstrate the family's obligation and responsibility for the house they are supported, thereby raising awareness of preserving and maintaining the house for long-term use".

Originating from a heart of compassion and for the community, charity house building groups in Chau Phu district have accompanied the front and unions at all levels of the district, actively participating in social work - charity, caring for the poor and people in especially difficult circumstances. Charity house building groups not only create warm homes for those in difficult circumstances, but also spread the spirit of compassion, connect the community, demonstrate the good tradition of "mutual love and support" of the nation. The small houses built with great affection of the community are proof of the strength of solidarity and sharing in society.
