Mr. Y Dieng Nie participated in social work from a very young age, receiving training through youth union activities and militia work before becoming the Deputy Police Chief of Tan Tien commune. During his work, he reformed and educated many young people who were reckless, pleasure-seeking, and prone to causing disorder in the village. He remembers most vividly the case of HA, who hung out with friends, got into fights, and even started using stimulants. At that time, HA was only 16 years old, with immature and impulsive thinking. Upon discovering this, Mr. Y Dieng went to HA's family and, together with HA's parents, tried to educate him. Mr. Y Dieng had to patiently combine gentle persuasion with firm warnings to prevent HA from going astray.
Mr. Y Dieng can't even remember all the times he caught teenagers revving their engines and speeding recklessly. He had to go to their homes to remind and educate them. In some cases, he had to apply the village's customary laws, the traditional customs of the Ede people, and coordinate with political and social organizations to help and reform them. He also built a "Security Alarm" model in Knier village, establishing a "curfew" to prevent teenagers from gathering late at night, which posed a potential risk to public order and security. Thanks to these efforts, public order and security in the village have always been stable, minimizing petty theft and fighting. Many of those impulsive teenagers have grown up, diligently working and building prosperous and happy family lives.
Despite his advanced age, Mr. Y Dieng remains enthusiastic in all village activities, especially in monitoring security and order; and disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws to the people in the ethnic minority community. Mr. Y Dieng shared: "My biggest advantage is that I grew up and lived in the village, so I'm close to the people and can integrate propaganda and mobilization work into everyday meetings, weddings, funerals, and even during mutual assistance sessions." Because he speaks truthfully and effectively, Mr. Y Dieng has earned even more trust and respect from the villagers.
As the Party Branch Secretary, Mr. Y Dieng implemented activities focused on the exemplary role and responsibilities of a Party member, from lifestyle and actions to understanding the local situation and the aspirations of the people. He also actively supported and guided the village's security team, participating in mediating many disputes early on, preventing conflicts from escalating, and maintaining the unity of the village.
For nearly 20 years as Chairman of the Buôn Hằng Parish Council, Mr. Trai – a respected figure in Kon H'ring village – not only fulfilled his religious duties but also actively participated in local social work as a member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and a representative of the Commune People's Council.

Mr. Trai shared that the majority of people in Kon H'ring village, as well as other Xê Đăng ethnic minority villages here, are Catholic and participate in activities at Buôn Hằng Parish Church. Therefore, in parish activities, he regularly informs the people about local activities, priority policies for socio -economic development in ethnic minority areas, and sustainable poverty reduction…
Understanding the hesitation and reluctance of the local people, Mr. Trai patiently explained, persuaded, and translated information and documents from the common language into the Xê Đăng language in the most accessible way so that the people could understand, trust, and follow. He also regularly listened to the thoughts and aspirations of the people to offer suggestions and proposals to the Party Committee, the government, and the Fatherland Front of the commune, thereby adjusting the implementation of activities to suit the specific characteristics of the ethnic minority people in this area.
In religious activities, he always emphasized encouraging parishioners to preserve traditional cultural values such as brocade weaving and gong performances. To date, more than 80% of parishioners in Buon Hang Parish regularly wear traditional clothing when participating in religious activities at the church. On major holidays, gong melodies with the distinctive sounds of the Xe Dang people are played by the villagers themselves, serving as a bond connecting the community and preserving traditional cultural roots within the religious space.

As a respected and trusted figure among the villagers, Mr. Trai always proactively seeks to understand social issues and relevant legal regulations to provide timely advice and guidance. Recently, he has been regularly updating information on scams and fraudulent activities exploiting people's gullibility for personal gain. He personally intervened in a case where a group of strangers came to film and photograph a family in Kon H'ring village with the intention of soliciting donations. Seeing that the strangers had not contacted the local authorities and were providing vague information, he advised the family not to allow them to film or photograph, preventing the spread of false information for the purpose of charity. From this case, he always reminds the villagers to be vigilant, not to allow strangers to use their images or those of their families without knowing the purpose; and to avoid falling for information "traps" promising "easy jobs with high pay" or impersonation of government officials.
With his dedication and enthusiasm, Mr. Trai has contributed to maintaining stability and peace in Kon H'ring village, fostering unity among its people, promoting virtuous living, and working together to build a more prosperous village.
