(Dan Tri) - Over the past many years, the majors of business and management, computers and information technology, engineering technology... have "dominated" the university admissions seasons.
On March 29, at the 2025 enrollment conference, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) announced information on the university enrollment situation in 2024.
Accordingly, among nearly 615,000 candidates admitted to universities and colleges of education, the business and management group continues to lead with a rate of 25%. This is the group that has continuously held the top position for many years.
In addition, the top 5 fields with the largest number of applicants also include: computer and information technology (12%), engineering technology (9%), humanities (9%) and health (6%).

This structure has not changed much compared to 2022 and 2023. However, the Ministry of Education and Training recorded a positive change when the proportion of admissions to the technical field increased by nearly 0.5%. The fields of life sciences , natural sciences, mathematics and statistics also tended to increase, although still modestly.

In 2024, out of 1,071,395 candidates taking the high school graduation exam, nearly 614,944 candidates will study at universities, accounting for 85.23% of the successful candidates.
According to the admission method, 52.18% of candidates enter school based on graduation exam scores, and 27.86% of candidates enter university based on academic records. About 3.36% of candidates enter university based on the results of aptitude and thinking assessment exams.
By region, the university entrance rate out of the total number of candidates taking the graduation exam in the Southeast is the highest at 68.28%. Next is the Red River Delta with a rate of 68.27%. The lowest is the Northern midland and mountainous region at 46.65%.
