
Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary of the Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation and Head Coach of the team Mai Thanh Ba officially took over the task from the Federation, and affirmed his determination to organize serious training, aiming to win at least one gold medal in his first participation.
The 33rd SEA Games marks a historic milestone as Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is included in the official competition program of an international sports event for the first time. Athletes will compete in 6 categories for men and women, in two formats: traditional MMA and modern MMA.
MMA will officially compete on December 10 and 11, 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand. According to the general regulations of the Vietnamese sports delegation, the team will leave for the SEA Games on December 8 and return home on December 12, 2025.
