According to tradition, on the day of the Cat in the ninth lunar month every year, the Tay Khao people hold a new rice offering ceremony - an agricultural ritual imbued with national identity. This is an opportunity for the community to express gratitude to the earth, gods, the Mother Goddess of the Mountains and ancestors for blessing the crops with good harvests and favorable weather. The ceremony not only summarizes a year of labor and production but is also an opportunity to unite the community, where everyone meets, shares farming experiences, and more importantly, teaches the younger generation love for their homeland, awareness of preserving and promoting the precious traditional cultural values of the Tay Khao people.

This year, despite the impact of natural disasters and floods, the Dong Cuong Temple New Rice Festival only took place in the ceremonial part, without organizing the festival part, but traditional rituals were still performed solemnly, in accordance with the customs of the Tay Khao people, such as the ceremony to welcome Mr. Mo to the temple, the incense offering ceremony, the weekly feast ceremony, the black buffalo slaughter ceremony and the main feast ceremony... Each ritual reflects the agricultural religious culture and the community's gratitude to heaven and earth, ancestors, contributing to preserving and spreading the unique cultural values associated with the festival, relics and characters worshiped here.

The Dong Cuong New Rice Festival in 2025 takes place on October 24 and 25 (September 4 and 5, At Ty year). This is an annual activity that contributes to meeting people's cultural enjoyment needs. Thereby, it arouses the tradition of drinking water and remembering its source, community solidarity, and awareness of protecting cultural heritage among the people.
