When he was 18 - old enough to donate blood, young man Bui Minh Phuong (Tan Thanh ward, Tam Ky city) started to be enthusiastic about this humanitarian activity. Besides the 26 certificates that he kept, Mr. Phuong does not remember how many times he donated his "red blood". In addition to the times when the city's Red Cross Society (CTĐ) mobilized the whole population to donate blood periodically, there were also days when he participated in donating hot blood.
Recalling the story of rushing to Quang Nam General Hospital to donate blood at nearly 2am, Mr. Phuong recalled: “I was sleeping when the Provincial Hot Blood Donation Club called to inform me that there was a case in urgent need of blood. It was raining heavily that day, I heard the news - as soon as I agreed to donate blood, the patient's family ran straight to my house to pick me up. I remember after donating, everyone thanked me profusely and I felt extremely happy!”

“Not only is Phuong an active participant, she also enthusiastically encourages local youth union members to join in voluntary blood donation. Whenever she needs warm blood, if she meets the requirements, Minh Phuong is always ready to donate,” said Mr. Huynh Van Tho, an officer of the Tam Ky City Red Cross Association.

Also starting his journey of "sowing life" since his eighteenth and twenties, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Huu (born in 1995, An Xuan ward, Tam Ky city) has donated blood 35 times so far. From a member of the volunteer club whose main activity is to help children with cancer at the Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital, out of pity for the children who need continuous blood transfusions, the young man has made an effort to contribute his strength and donate blood to support the young patients. When he returned to work at the Quang Nam Provincial Police, Mr. Huu immediately joined his unit's Hot Blood Club.

Similarly, recently honored by the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, young doctor Le Quang Thuan (born in 1995, Binh Sa commune, Thang Binh district) expressed: “As a medical officer, I am aware of my duty and responsibility in this meaningful life-saving activity. “A drop of blood given - a life saved” - although this is a small action, it gives great hope to patients in need of the right blood type”.
Referring to his colleague's achievements in voluntary blood donation, Dr. Thao (Department of Hematology and Blood Transfusion - Quang Nam General Hospital) praised: "Dr. Thuan not only actively participates in blood donation but also mobilizes his family, relatives, friends, colleagues and people around him to send love through this noble act. In many cases where critically ill patients urgently need blood, Dr. Thuan quickly shows up to donate blood or if he is not qualified, he will support the hospital in finding a suitable blood source."

[ VIDEO ] – Mr. Nguyen Trong Khanh (who has donated blood 24 times) shared:
In the first 6 months of 2025, the whole province mobilized and received 10,600 units of blood (exceeding the central target). With great attention and support from the community, the core of which is the youth, voluntary blood donation activities have spread profound and widespread humanistic values. Young people in their enthusiastic age have enthusiastically participated, especially in spontaneous blood donation. In addition, at blood donation clubs, in the propaganda and mobilization of humanitarian blood donation, the team of union members and youth participated very actively. This has helped the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation receive enough blood, ensuring the needs at 4 blood receiving facilities in 4 hospitals".
