Weapons, tanks, UAVs appear for the first time at defense exhibition

Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 has weapons, tanks, UAVs appearing for the first time, with products that are the fear of opponents on the battlefield.

On December 19, the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 officially opened at Gia Lam military airport, Hanoi.
The event attracted many domestic and foreign delegations and visitors to the areas displaying equipment and weapons such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), tanks, armored vehicles, missiles, helicopters, infantry weapons, etc.

The outdoor exhibition area attracts visitors to see the Scud-B ballistic missile complex, T-90S/SK main battle tanks, and American A-10 attack aircraft and C-130J military transport aircraft.

Meanwhile, in the indoor defense product display area, famous defense units and corporations from Russia, India, Israel, China, the US, etc. brought weapons, tank models, infantry fighting vehicles, and special UAVs. Some models appeared for the first time in Vietnam.

The VT4 main battle tank model designed and assembled by China's Norinco Company first appeared at the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024. VT4 is a 52-ton heavy tank manufactured by China specifically for export. It integrates the technology of the Type 99A tank currently used by the Chinese army. The STV-380 standard infantry gun model is being mass-produced by the army to gradually replace the aging AK-47 submachine gun. The STV-380 was researched, produced, and improved by Vietnam with many features suitable for the army. The gun has many variations, integrating a picatinny rail to install additional accessories such as optical sights, flashlights, and barrel-mounted grenade launchers. The STV-380 still uses 7.62×39mm ammunition, needs to be loaded on the right side, and has 3 safety locking mechanisms - automatic fire and single shot. The SBT12M1 sniper rifle (pictured above) is a powerful weapon that uses 12.7x108mm ammunition, equipped for individuals to destroy enemy forces or unarmored or lightly armored combat vehicles at a distance of up to 1,200m with high accuracy. According to a representative of Smith & Wesson Company, this is the second time the company has attended the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition because it saw the need to purchase and equip weapons, especially the M&P9 M2.0 pistol for use by law enforcement forces in 40 countries such as Belgium, the US, Thailand... Not only officers, many young people and middle-aged visitors were also interested in the display booth and tried out weapons from the Colt CZ Group (Czech Republic). Many types of guns from this group are used by the military and law enforcement agencies in many countries, such as the CZ P-09 and CZ P-10 pistols, or the CZ Scorpion Evo 3 submachine gun. The CZ Scorpion Evo 3 uses NATO 9x19mm ammunition, is highly accurate, has low recoil, and has a folding stock that is convenient for urban combat. The SKYBEAM handgun, which first appeared at the exhibition, attracted much attention. The gun, which is capable of remotely jamming drones, was researched and manufactured by Israel using radio modules to jam drones, and is often used by the military and police to protect locations with tight security within a range of up to 3km.
