Although developed on a common technical platform with the Mitsubishi Triton, the new generation Nissan Navara 2026 pickup truck is still shaped with a distinct design style, its own fine-tuned suspension system and many off-road equipment. The new generation Navara's appearance impresses with its boxy grille, Patrol-style LED lights and bull bar-inspired front bumper. The body retains many details from the Triton, but the taillights use separate LED graphics designed by Nissan.
Nissan also introduced different versions of Navara 2026, from the mid-range ST-X to the high-end Pro-4X with sporty styling: extended wheel arches, sports bar, dark wheels and Lava Red accents. In addition, users can personalize the new generation Nissan Navara 2026 pickup truck with many accessories such as steel bull bars, bed covers, snorkels, roll covers and many other options. Inside, the Navara's interior uses a similar design to the Triton but is refined in materials and brand logos. The car is equipped with a 9-inch entertainment screen, new driver assistance technology, and more spacious rear seats. The Pro-4X version has additional red-stitched leather seats and prominent decorative details.
The new 2026 Nissan Navara uses the Triton's ladder-frame chassis and is the first in the Navara range to feature electric power steering. The suspension system was developed exclusively in Australia by Premcar. Nissan's flagship pickup truck uses a 2.4L twin-turbo diesel engine, 201 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque - stronger than its predecessor, while also more fuel-efficient (7.7 liters/100 km). Depending on the version, the vehicle is equipped with Easy 4WD or Super 4WD drive system equivalent to Mitsubishi's Super Select 4WD-II system, with center differential lock and multiple terrain modes. Notably, the new generation Navara also maintains a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 kg, payload from 950 to 1,047 kg - suitable for the mid-size pickup segment standards.
The big surprise at the launch event was the Navara Warrior concept developed by Premcar, which focuses on off-road capabilities with a 14mm lift, 17-inch beadlock wheels, 32.2-inch all-terrain tires and skid plates. The new Navara will go on sale in Australia and New Zealand from the first quarter of 2026. Pricing will be announced closer to launch. When launched, the vehicle will compete directly with the new generation Toyota Hilux and the facelifted Ford Ranger – the two leading pickup trucks in the Australian market.
Notably, the Australian version of the Navara has a unique design and configuration, completely different from the Navara models in South America, the Frontier in North America or the Frontier Pro in China. This shows that Nissan is moving towards a strategy of developing specific products for each region - instead of using a single global pickup model.
