Named "Glamorous", the group of students from Chu Van An High School and High School for Gifted Students of Natural Sciences, University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, truly shined when they became the Champion of the ISME Business Case Debate Contest (IDC) 2024. This is a debate for students nationwide that was recently held at the National Economics University.
Sharing with Dan Viet Newspaper about the competition process, Lai Hong Anh, class 11A1, Chu Van An High School, the group's representative, said: "Luckily, in the final round, we had the opportunity to present our favorite topic: fashion . However, during the exchange and discussion, each of us had our own ideas but still tried to stay calm and unify to achieve the best results. After that, when we went on stage, we were very nervous but still reassured each other to stay calm. I think we won because of our team spirit."

Hong Anh added: "For me, sustainable fashion is the fashion trend of the future because people are gradually paying more attention to environmental issues as well as consumer health. Sustainable fashion is an opportunity to create more new life cycles for products, while limiting the level of waste of excess clothing and limiting the consumption of fast fashion."
According to Hong Anh, after this contest, the students got to know many friends and seniors who shared the same passion, learned many things and became more confident in their passion.
Not only winning the championship of this debate competition, before that, Hong Anh also achieved a number of remarkable achievements such as always being an excellent student; Second prize in Literature for excellent students at Ba Dinh and Tay Ho clusters; reaching the final round of the Vietnam business innovation challenge; Bronze medal in the International Economics Olympiad Winter Challenge 2024; Silver medal in the Hanoi Debate Tournament.
Lai Hong Anh's two teammates are Phan Hong Anh, an 11th grade English student at Chu Van An High School, and Tran Nhan Quang, an 11th grade Physics 2 student at the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences , University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Dr. Trinh Thi Thu Giang, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Training, National Economics University, said that this year, the competition is more closely linked to real business situations through the use of business situations as questions for candidates.
This year's topic is "Sustainable production in the context of minimalist consumption", focusing on the 12th Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) on Responsible Consumption and Production, with the desire to bring students a new awareness of the fashion industry and responsibility to the community and environment towards the goal of sustainable development.
"We still think that fashion will always innovate, always tend to change very quickly to follow new things. But besides that, fashion must also demonstrate responsibility and environmental sustainability. Through the contest, we hope to bring the young generation a playground to help practice the necessary skills for future development; at the same time, raise their awareness not only about development but also about sustainability, about the responsibility of each individual to become responsible citizens and maintain sustainability in development", said Dr. Trinh Thi Thu Giang.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Trung Thanh, Director of the Institute of International Education, said: "The students' debate will contribute to the broader dialogue on sustainable development and can inspire practical changes to production and consumption, raising awareness of the responsibility of all stakeholders, from government, businesses, to customers in sustainable development".
