Farmers in a district of Tien Giang are picking this delicious fruit, the selling price has doubled.

Currently, the price of yellow longan purchased by traders is 28,000 VND/kg, double that of the same period last year. With this price, after deducting expenses, farmers in Tan Phu Dong district, Tien Giang province earn a good profit.

In Tan Phu Dong district (Tien Giang province), there are currently about 90 hectares of longan, mainly concentrated in Phu Thanh, Tan Thanh and Tan Thoi communes.

Farmers in Tan Phu Dong district (Tien Giang province) harvest longan. Longan prices are currently high, double that of 2023.

Of which, Ba Lam hamlet, Phu Thanh commune (Tan Phu Dong district, Tien Giang province) has more than 60 hectares of longan grown in monoculture or intercropping.

The popular longan varieties grown in Tan Phu Dong district (Tien Giang province) include yellow rice longan, Hue longan and longan. Currently, farmers are in the 2024 longan harvest season.

Farmers are proficient in techniques of cultivation, fertilization, pruning, treatment, and pest control, especially dragon bud disease which is thoroughly prevented, contributing to ensuring productivity and yield of longan at harvest.
