In 2011, Ms. Nguyen Hoai Tho participated in the local Youth Union work, as Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Area 1, Hung Phu Ward. In 2016, she was assigned as Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Hung Phu Ward. Ms. Tho always proactively arranged her work to complete assigned tasks well, while pursuing her studies and achieving good results. In 2020, Ms. Tho graduated from university with a degree in Business Administration, Ho Chi Minh City Open University. In 2024, Ms. Tho continued to graduate from university with a degree in Law, Can Tho University.
From 2022 to present, Ms. Nguyen Hoai Tho has been the Secretary of the Youth Union of Hung Phu Ward. Ms. Tho shared: "Thanks to participating in the Youth Union's work, I have been trained and learned many valuable lessons to become more mature". With 14 years of participating in the Youth Union's work, Ms. Tho, together with the Youth Union members and youth (YVTN) in the area and ward, has carried out many practical projects and tasks, contributing to the locality's good implementation of social security work. Specifically, in 2023, Ms. Tho and the Executive Committee of the Hung Phu Ward Youth Union established the model "Foster Child of the Youth Union" to support Nguyen Thi Trang (Area 5), a 3rd grade student at Hung Phu 2 Primary School, who is in especially difficult circumstances. Trang confided: “From 2023 until now, I have been visited by Ms. Tho and the Youth Union members and given 300,000 VND/month. I am very grateful to the members of the group and promise to try my best to study well so as not to let them down.” According to Ms. Tho, the model “Foster Child of the Group” is expected to continue to maintain and support Trang until she is 18 years old.
During Youth Month 2025, Hung Phu Ward Youth Union coordinated with the Pharmacy - Nursing Faculty of Tay Do University to launch the youth project "Creative experiential recess", with the model "Friendly chessboard", at Hung Phu Secondary School. Ms. Chiem Thi Kiem Loan, Secretary of the Youth Union of Hung Phu Secondary School, said: "The friendly chessboard at the school has attracted many students to participate in the experience. Playing chess and chess helps students develop their thinking, practice patience and calmness, concentrate, think carefully and deeply, and not rush". Ms. Tho said: "To implement the model, the Youth Union members buy old tires, clean them, stack 2 tires together, paint them, draw patterns, then assemble the chessboard and chessboard for students to experience and play". Currently, the Ward Youth Union has built 5 chessboards and handed them over at Hung Phu Secondary School. In the near future, the ward Youth Union will coordinate with other youth unions to continue implementing the "Creative Experiential Recess" project at Hung Phu 1 Primary School, Hung Phu 2 Primary School and Ngoi Sao Primary School.
In addition, in March 2025, Ms. Tho and the Hung Phu Ward Youth Union coordinated with students of Tay Do University to organize the giving of 20 gifts to disadvantaged youth, each gift including notebooks, pens, milk, cakes... with a total value of 5 million VND.
Ms. Nguyen Hoai Tho shared: “I continue to arrange and organize work scientifically and reasonably to complete assigned tasks well. In particular, focusing on synchronous digital transformation in all aspects of the Union's work, maintaining the model of supporting people to submit documents and pay online through the public service portal, helping people save time and costs; continue to do a good job in social security work; mobilize young union members to actively volunteer for community life, build civilized urban areas, protect the environment…”.
