Tourist DR Annie Marie receives rehabilitation treatment after surgery

The handwritten letter was sent by the female patient DR Annie Marie and her husband to Hue Central Hospital. The female tourist expressed her gratitude to the hospital's Board of Directors and the team of doctors and nurses of the Department of Orthopedics and Plastic Surgery, the Department of Anesthesia and Resuscitation, the Center for Treatment on Demand and International of Hue Central Hospital for treating and taking good care of her health.

Previously, on December 1, Dr. Annie Marie was admitted to the Emergency Department - On-Demand and International Treatment Center with pain and deformity of the left hip joint, the left ankle rotated outward, and the inability to walk. The patient said that her condition occurred after slipping down the stairs at a local hotel. After being ordered by the doctor to take an X-ray of the pelvis and left thigh, it was discovered that the patient had a Garden IV fracture of the left femoral neck.

The leaders of Hue Central Hospital quickly directed a multidisciplinary consultation. The patient was urgently operated on to replace the entire left hip joint to help relieve pain, mobilize early, and avoid complications due to prolonged immobilization such as pneumonia, pressure ulcers, and deep vein thrombosis. The surgical team was directly performed by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hy - Director of the Center for On-Demand and International Treatment of Hue Central Hospital.

After the surgery, the French tourist's health recovered well and she underwent rehabilitation exercises according to a special program for patients after hip replacement. From the third day after surgery, the patient was able to practice walking with crutches. On the afternoon of December 13, DR Annie Marie was discharged from the hospital and planned to fly home.
