On May 23, the Investigation Police Agency of District 5 Police, Ho Chi Minh City, prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Thi Mong Ly (37 years old, from Ben Tre) for theft of property.

On the afternoon of May 11, the owner of KLT gold shop on Nghia Thuc street (Ward 5, District 5) reported the theft of gold, total value of 1.1 billion VND .

During the investigation, the police determined that Ly had many suspicious points. On the evening of May 11, detectives discovered Ly in Ben Tre province and invited her to the headquarters for questioning. However, Ly refused to comply and made an excuse that she had a heart condition and fainted.

After being taken to the hospital, Ly confessed to her actions. According to her acquaintance, Ly started working at the gold shop in February. Every day, this woman cleaned the shop and washed clothes for Mr. T's family.

By the end of April, Ly took advantage of an employee's negligence to steal the above assets.
