Hanoi: An 8th grade female student at Kien Hung Secondary School, Ha Dong District, was suspended from school for 6 days for beating a junior classmate until her face bled.
On the afternoon of February 3, principal Nguyen Thi Bach Loan announced the above information. In addition to being suspended from school, the female student who beat her friend was also classified as having failed in her training.
The incident happened on January 26. A 6th grade female student at Kien Hung Secondary School had a conflict with a classmate, then was beaten by her classmate’s older sister (an 8th grade student at the same school). The victim was bleeding from her face.
After working with Kien Hung ward police, Kien Hung Secondary School held a disciplinary council meeting on the afternoon of January 27. The families also met and agreed to resolve the conflict.
"The school, authorities, and parents have handled the incident according to regulations," Loan said, affirming that the victim was not slashed in the face with a box cutter as reported on social media. The child's health is stable and he has returned to school.
The Departmentof Education and Training of Ha Dong district requested Kien Hung school to learn from experience in managing students; continue to coordinate with families to care for students, and promote school violence prevention and school safety.
