Giang naturally loved Chinese since she was little. She learned Chinese by herself through watching movies, watching game shows, and downloading apps to learn how to write.

At the same time, her family created conditions for her to improve her English. After finishing secondary school, Giang took the entrance exam to the Foreign Language Specialized High School and passed the English specialized class. She chose to study Japanese as her second foreign language at school.

Some of the female student's other impressive academic achievements include her SAT score of 1540/1600, IELTS score of 7.5, HSK6 certificate with a score of 268/300... Giang has an average academic score of 9.8 and is always among the top students in her class and grade.

Giang also participated in many Chinese competitions for high school students and won high prizes. Outside of school, she often plays the piano and swims to relieve stress. In life, whenever she has to face negative emotions, Giang often practices the piano to feel calmer.

Giang is also the head of the Chinese Club's communications department at the Foreign Language High School. She actively participates in volunteer work at the Hanoi Center for the Care of the Disabled.

With an impressive record of achievements, Tue Giang said she is grateful to her parents for helping her have a good direction for her personal development. The environment at home and at school has helped her a lot in her learning and training journey. In particular, her parents never put pressure on her grades but always encouraged and motivated her. This helped Tue Giang have a psychological balance in her studies.

Self-study foreign language method

Giang said that since childhood, she has loved foreign languages in particular and languages in general. She immerses herself in the world of languages by watching movies, following game shows in foreign languages... This helps her have good language reflexes. To practice thinking and writing skills naturally, Giang often writes a diary in Chinese or English.

According to Giang, self-study is a very important factor to learn a foreign language well. She collects many books and documents from different sources. She also takes advantage of foreign language self-study applications and regularly practices questions to gradually get used to taking important certification exams.

According to Giang, her love for foreign languages in particular and languages in general is both an innate factor and a result of her family's nurturing. Since childhood, she has listened to many songs in foreign languages because her mother has a hobby of listening to international music.

After that, my family created conditions for me to pursue foreign language studies, take the entrance exam to a specialized language school, go abroad for summer study and experience, so my love for learning foreign languages was further nurtured.

However, Giang always reminds herself to be good at Vietnamese. She reads a lot of books and sets a goal of reading at least one book written in Vietnamese every month.

During the summer months, I can read up to 10 books in a month. Reading many books helps me to have good writing skills, and to understand and love my homeland's culture more.

Don't be afraid of AI, because only humans can appreciate the beauty of language.

In the current era of explosive AI development, it is a fact that a part of learners feel apprehensive when pursuing in-depth foreign language learning. Giang's advice to the younger generations is that language always contains both content and emotion at the same time.

There are things that AI cannot replace humans in, such as translating literary works. There is beauty in language, in expressing emotions that only the human soul can perceive and translate best.

In the face of the explosive development of AI, according to Giang, foreign language learners need to see both opportunities and challenges. To maintain the motivation to learn foreign languages in the current context, learners need to understand that AI is just a tool. The true master of language to serve activities such as diplomacy and events is still humans.

Therefore, learners need to be confident, because no matter how much AI develops, humans will always be the masters of language. However, learners will need to improve their skills to be better than AI, there are factors that AI cannot replace.

The advent of AI has also made career prospects in the linguistics field somewhat bleak, with some now saying that pursuing a career in linguistics is outdated.

In this regard, Tue Giang believes that the translation and interpretation market may close some doors, but will also open others at the same time, such as the job of "teaching" languages to AI or controlling AI-generated content.

Aspiration to return to Vietnam to contribute

Giang said that for her, all her achievements are just milestones, stepping stones to help her reach a bigger goal: to live a happy, comfortable and truly free life.

I myself am not pressured by achievements, what I have achieved makes me feel "nothing". I hope I will always live with my passion for languages, become a competent person to be free to make choices in work and life, and live happily with my hobbies such as drawing, playing the piano, reading, swimming...

Giang believes that knowledge brings freedom to each person's life. For example, learning Chinese by herself helped open the door for her to study abroad.

After what she has achieved, Giang feels grateful to her parents because they have always let her develop her strengths in the most natural way. Her parents have always listened, encouraged and supported her.

My idol is my mother. To me, my mother is an intelligent, wise woman with modern psychological education methods, always having open dialogue with her children. In particular, my mother is also good at business and is a famous art collector. Observing the way my mother works and treats people in the family and in society, Giang admires her even more.

Giang’s goal during her university years is to study hard, join clubs, and improve her skills to find internship opportunities. After that, she wants to continue her studies for a master’s degree. In the long run, she hopes to return to Vietnam to contribute to her country.

If I major in Chinese, I want to become a teacher and help bring foreign language learning to children in disadvantaged areas. If I major in psychology, I want to help bring mental health care activities into schools in Vietnam in a more practical way.

The future self-image that Giang strives to achieve is that of a young person with knowledge, the ability to help others, and the ability to bring good values to the community and society.

Ever since Giang was little, her mother often took her along to volunteer activities, so she could realize how lucky she was.

Real-life experiences help me understand that there are many people in society who are less fortunate than me. From then on, I soon had the desire to use my own abilities to create better values for society.
