Sharing with VietNamNet , Van Anh said she was very happy and lucky with the results she achieved. “What I am most happy about is that I dared to try to apply to two top universities in China with many competing candidates. At first, I was quite hesitant about whether to apply, because I thought my profile might not be as good as many other students,” Van Anh said.

The female student believes that perhaps what helped her get the "nod" from the admissions committee was her application with an impressive Chinese section.

Starting to learn Chinese from grade 8, Van Anh was the valedictorian of grade 10, not only in this specialized block but also in the entire course of the Foreign Language Specialized High School in 2022. In grade 11, the female student won the third prize in the national excellent student competition in Chinese. She also won many other impressive achievements in Chinese such as: Gold medal in the competition to select excellent students of specialized high schools in the Coastal and Northern Delta regions; Second prize in the Olympic competition organized by Hanoi National University.

The female student also achieved HSK6 Chinese certificate in grade 11; IELTS 7.5.

In addition to her academic results, she also actively participates in many extracurricular activities and some business competitions.

In her self-introduction essay, Van Anh talked about her journey with Chinese and her efforts in studying.

Van Anh said she really loves Chinese so she always spends time whenever possible to improve this foreign language in all 4 skills: listening - speaking - reading - writing.

The female student said she often combines studying with entertainment and finds it quite effective. “I really like watching Chinese movies and consider them as a channel, even a source of supplementary materials for my studies,” Van Anh said.

She also uses Chinese social networks like Douyin, Weibo... to access the language usage of the community and learn many new words.

Before exams, female students try to do many exercises and reinforce grammar and vocabulary.

Van Anh said that during her 3 years in high school, she tried many different fields to know what she really liked and would pursue in university.

“When participating in any extracurricular activity, I will try my hand at many different positions such as human resources, logistics, finance, etc. Through that, I gradually realize my strengths and passions,” said Van Anh.

The female student said that her results were partly thanks to studying at the Foreign Language Specialized High School, having a systematic learning environment and being exposed to major competitions to improve her skills.

What the female student wants to share with her peers is to be confident and dare to challenge yourself. “With everything, whether you know whether you will succeed or fail, the first thing is to dare to try. Because if you don’t try, you will definitely fail. But if you try, we will have the opportunity to succeed,” Van Anh shared.

Faced with these opportunities, the female student said she would choose to study Advertising at Peking University with a full scholarship. “I think this is a very dynamic major and I can try my hand at many new fields. In China, the media field is quite vibrant and also has a great influence globally. Therefore, I hope to learn more things to serve my future work,” the female student said.

In addition to her goal of studying hard, Van Anh also wants to experience the culture of other countries and broaden her worldview.
