The Party Committee and People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward ( Quang Ninh Province) have just reviewed and disciplined 9 officials and teachers of Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School (Ha Lam Ward) related to the case of correcting scores in the electronic transcript for the child of a ward official.
These agencies determined that the principal and a number of school officials had committed serious violations in changing a student's academic ranking from poor to excellent in the 2024-2025 school year.
According to the verification results, in the 2024-2025 school year, the school's board of directors and some teachers intervened and changed the test scores and exam scores on the electronic transcript system of a student who is the child of a ward official. From there, this student's score was "magically" raised from a poor category to a good category, distorting the year-end assessment results.
Based on the inspection results, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward have disciplined 9 individuals who are officials and teachers of Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School. Among them, Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Lan was dismissed from the position of principal and transferred to staff; 5 teachers were given warnings and 3 teachers were reprimanded.
The score-fixing case was discovered in early October when the People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward received a complaint from parents and teachers about the grades of an official's child being altered on the electronic student report card software.
According to the complaint, this student had his semester exam scores changed in many subjects. Specifically, the original score in the semester exams of IT and English was 4, but was changed to 8 in the system.
Parents also provided images of text messages showing instructions from school leaders, asking teachers to correct scores in math, natural science , computer science and English of this student.
The People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward has established an inspection team to verify and conclude violations by the principal and a number of officers and employees of Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School.
