Female boxer Hau Giang won national boxing gold medal

(HG) - Female boxer Hoang Ngoc Mai has just brought home a gold medal in the women's 70kg category for Hau Giang sports at the 2024 National Boxing Championship. She is also the first athlete from Hau Giang to have the opportunity to participate in the 2024 Olympic qualifying round.

Boxer Hoang Ngoc Mai (podium number 1) won the gold medal at the tournament.

This year's tournament took place in Can Tho city, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho city in coordination with the Vietnam Boxing Federation, from September 11 to 20, attracting more than 350 boxers from 38 provinces, cities and sectors. There were 14 male weight classes and 13 female weight classes, divided into 2 age groups: 17-18 years old and 19-40 years old. The competition results at the tournament are the basis for discovering and selecting outstanding athletes for the national team, creating a source to participate in international tournaments.
